🌟 Your Laptop Can Change a Child’s World – Here’s How 🌟 When we launched the Digital Access Grant (DAG) Program, we had a simple goal: to connect homeschool families with the technology they desperately need. We started small, reaching out in homeschooling Facebook groups, hoping a few people might find value in what we’re doing. What happened next was nothing short of inspiring. Within days, messages poured in from parents who felt isolated, overwhelmed, and in need of support. They shared stories of children struggling to keep up without reliable technology. Families were making do with outdated devices or, worse, none at all. We realized the need was much greater than we imagined – but so was the desire of others to help. That’s where you come in. Your donation of a functioning laptop can help bridge this gap for so many students who need just one chance to thrive academically. With your support, we’re not only providing technology; we’re creating a community of empowerment, connection, and opportunity. Here’s how you can help: 1️⃣ Donate a functioning laptop – it goes directly into the hands of a student in need. 2️⃣ Share this message with your network to amplify our reach. 3️⃣ Get in touch with us donations@lovewellspent.org for easy pickup and prep details. Every laptop makes a tangible difference. Thank you for believing in this mission with us, and for helping us turn these stories of need into stories of success. https://lnkd.in/g_9fxmyV #DigitalAccessGrant #DonateALaptop #LoveWellSpent #BridgeTheDigitalDivide #HomeschoolCommunity #donate

Today is International E-Waste Day. This week is Anti-Poverty Week. It’s also Get Online Week. And October is Small Business Month. At The Reconnect Project, we tackle and celebrate all these events every single day. We’re on a mission to stop mobile devices from prematurely becoming e-waste; we help financially disadvantaged individuals, students and families to get online by providing access to quality refurbished tech; and we do all this as a small business social enterprise (and charity). You can help us by: 1. Donate your mobile devices to us. 2. Visit our repair workshop for affordable, quality repair services for your tech. 3. Financially support our work with a tax-deductible donation (link in comments). #antipovertyweek #internationalewasteday #getonlineweek #smallbusinessmonth

Imagine your life without a computer... We recently hosted an event at our store location on Seven Mile to gift laptops to members of the community who don't currently have proper access to high quality tech, but are in serious need of it. Many of the recipients were kids in the early stages of their educational journey. Not having access to a laptop or computer at home puts them several steps behind kids that do, and that just doesn't sit right with us. If that doesn't sit right with you either, head to the link human-i-t.org to donate through our website to give young people, on the wrong side of the digital divide, some of the same opportunities their peers have. #DigitalEquity #DigitalLiteracy #DigitalInclusion #DigitalDivide #InclusiveTech

FAQs About Working with Education Nonprofits Like Turn the Bus : Working with nonprofits in education is rewarding, but it often raises a lot of questions. Here are some FAQs we hear often – and the answers! 1. How can I make an impact with a small donation? Even small donations go a long way! Each contribution helps us reach more students, support our programs, and keep resources accessible to underserved communities. 2. Are nonprofits only for volunteers? Not at all! Nonprofits need skilled professionals to run operations, manage projects, and drive strategy. If you’re passionate and have skills to share, you can make a difference in many ways. 3. Is nonprofit work slow-paced? The truth is, nonprofit work is incredibly dynamic! We’re constantly innovating, adapting, and tackling challenges to ensure effective solutions for students. Just this year, we collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University to develop an AR/VR lab, bringing 3D learning to students in remote areas. 4. How can I stay informed and support this cause? Follow our page, engage with our content, and spread the word. Your interest and support fuel our mission! Whether through donations, partnerships, or simply sharing our story, every bit of support counts. If you have more questions, we’d love to hear from you! Let’s work together to make quality education accessible to every child. #NonProfitFAQs #educationforall #getinvolved #turnthebus #education #npo #joinourmission

This holiday season, we’re reflecting on 🎁 the gift of access 🎁 because at reWerk, we believe that talent is equally distributed, but opportunities often are not. And access to the right tools can be the key that unlocks potential. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners and donors, we’ve been able to deliver thousands of laptops, monitors, high-quality tech equipment, and furniture to students, community organizations, and nonprofits working tirelessly to close the opportunity gap. These donations help empower individuals to pursue education, explore creativity, and build a better future. For some, a donated laptop isn’t just a device—it’s a classroom, a job application portal, or a gateway to a world of possibility. And that’s a gift that keeps giving. 🫶 As we celebrate the season of giving, we invite you to join us in creating a world where no one misses out on opportunities due to a lack of resources. Here’s how you can help: 1️⃣ Donate your excess equipment or make a financial contribution. 2️⃣ Partner with us to bring resources to communities in need. 3️⃣ Share this post to spread the word about the power of access. Let’s continue to turn unused tech into the gift of access and opportunity. Together, we’re making equity not just a goal, but a reality. ✨ #GiftOfAccess #ClosingTheDigitalDivide #reWerkImpact #TechForGood #EquityInAction

Ever wondered how much impact your $10 can make? Let’s talk about the Power of 10 initiative by the IAAP Foundation, a brilliant example of small contributions leading to significant change. The concept is beautifully simple yet profoundly impactful. Administrative professionals, often underrepresented in the higher echelons of corporate salary scales, can pledge $10 a month. This collective effort isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about community building. Ten admins come together in a giving circle, pooling their resources to sponsor a fellow admin’s attendance at the IAAP Summit through a scholarship. The beauty of this structure is that donors get to meet and engage with the scholarship recipient at the summit, creating a personal connection and seeing firsthand the difference their donation makes. This isn't just a donation; it's a meaningful investment in someone's professional growth and a testament to the strength of community support. In a world where we’re often led to believe that bigger is better, the Power of 10 dispels the myth that you need to be wealthy to make a difference. This initiative validates that modest, consistent contributions can not only change an individual’s career trajectory but also strengthen the profession. If you're curious about how such a small amount can lead to major opportunities and want to be part of this inspiring community, check out the IAAP Foundation’s website. Together, we can demonstrate how collective action leads to monumental outcomes. #CommunityBuilding #ProfessionalDevelopment #IAAP #PowerOf10 #MakingADifference

Hey BBC News, it's BornGood, not Born Good. But anyways... Our main man Chris Barton (Operations Director), was on the tele yesterday morning explaining what we do to help businesses donate their tech securely to help bridge the digital divide. The North East struggles with over 12% of its population without regular internet access. This gap means many are missing out on vital opportunities in education, employment, and staying connected. But it's not all bad news. We are thrilled that more and more people are recognising this issue and actively taking the initiative to help out. BornGood has donated thousands of devices to children and adults since the pandemic, when the issue reared its ugly head. Now, our goal is simple: BornGood pledges to donate 10% of all the tech we refurbish to charities. As the Northeast grows with new infrastructure and development, our mission is to help everyone stay connected and empowered. Let's continue pushing forward and creating opportunities for all! #BornGood #DigitalInclusion #CommunitySupport #TechForGood #NorthEast #DigitalDivide #BBCBreakfast
