Good call from Sandra Valenzuela de Narvaez on the need to work together to address the impact of climate change and I think this is where we need to be careful in order to address the real problem ...not the indirect impact of the problem. - Rationing water sounds great on paper but we know that large businesses, hotels, and residential complex already have infrastructure to store water and, at the end of the day, they are not changing their consumptions (or affected by rationing) - For the rest of the population, most people will recollect more water than they actually need for the day, ending up wasting more water. *** Now the real problem, Bogota, like most other cities in Latin America have outdated infrastructures for water distribution which means that 70 to 90% of the water leaks before getting to users. *** What have we heard from the Mayor of Bogota and the government on the need to invest in infrastructures and the use of sensors to prevent leakages? Well absolutely nothing! Let's not confuse climate crisis and bad infrastructures otherwise we will never fix the REAL problem. #water #waterleakages #bogota #colombia
