Q1, that’s a wrap! As we all know, the market is still not quite where it used to be, however March felt a lot better and as we enter April; a new financial year, let’s hope we see more jobs and better rates with new budgets! 🙏🏼 Really excited to see what Q2 brings us all, but in order to have a successful outcome, it’s important to set some goals. My goals for Q2: - Attend 3 meet ups/events across tech and diversity 🙋🏻♀️ - Grow software engineering teams within 5 new businesses 💻 - Speak to 500 new candidates ☎️ - Face-to-face coffee meetings every week with my network ☕️ - Hit the gym - (it’s been a minute)🥵 - Sign up to a sporting event 🏃♀️ - Read 3 books 📚 - Book a vacation 🏖️ What are your goals for Q2? Q2 Let’s go! #accountability #goals #newrelationships #Q2

"Yesterday ended last night, today is a brand new day.And its yours" -zig ziglar YESTERDAY, your sales pitch was amazing, whether it was your confidence and charisma, deep understanding of the client's needs, compelling storytelling, impeccable timing and delivery, or the innovative solutions you offered that set you apart from the competition Perhaps TODAY you're not feeling your best, or you're swamped with work, or you simply long to spend time with your FAMILY. Trust me, we all have been there... The stress, the long hours, the endless commutes of a 9-5 job can be overwhelming. The monotony of repetitive tasks for minimal financial gain can feel suffocating. But what if there's another path? One where you can utilize your skills and knowledge to create something meaningful—an educational course. Imagine delivering prerecorded videos, guiding individuals step by step, from the basics to advanced concepts. A-Z training and mentorship. Online education represents the future of learning—a flexible, accessible way to acquire knowledge and skills. So, what's stopping you from taking that leap?

Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with a group of new developers, all eager to jumpstart their careers in tech! 🎉 Stim hosted a breakfast seminar where I got to share some tips and tricks for landing that first dev job, and it turned out to be a fantastic session. We had lots of engaging discussions, thoughtful questions, and shared insights that got everyone excited about the journey ahead. We talked about: - The unfair advantage of spending time on side projects; especially as newly graduated developers but really throughout your entire career. - Understanding that junior developers are not bringing skills to the table but their future potential. - The importance and how-to of quickly helping the recruiting manager understand that you're a safe bet. - How to network without feeling like a sleazeball and how powerful that will be for your longterm career. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and brought such great energy to the event! I can’t wait to see where these promising developers go from here! 🚀

We had a really busy end to Q1, made to feel even busier with Easter and half-terms (which is why this post is a few days later than planned). I could talk about the work we did in March, but I’ve started to look more closely at other areas of the business, and I think these make for a better update… 1. Cultivating Connections 🤝🌱 Throughout March, I’ve really begun to focus on expanding my network, looking for opportunities to learn from, and provide value to, like-minded people. It started with taking the wonderful Emily Penny up on her offer to join a peer-to-peer group that she so kindly organised. Spending time talking to other thinkers, doers and makers can only ever be a good thing. Sam Watson reached out to me after reading an article about our work in Prolific North and talked me through some of the ways that Gather LCR can support us and our growth ambitions. He kindly reserved a space for me on the Shift programme, which I look forward to starting later this month. Last but not least, I reached out to Gellan Watt FRSA, who as most people will know is ever-generous with his ideas and wisdom, so I really look forward to having the chance to pick his brains a little. 2. Extra! Extra! Read all about it! 📰📢 The other thing I’ve focused on this month is PR. As the new kids on the block, it’s expected that not a lot of people know who we are. That being said, we’ve done some work that we're really proud of, and it's great that this has been noticed online, with stories published in Prolific North & World Brand Design Society. We’ve got a couple of projects in review by Dieline too, so keep an eye out for those. 🤞 So, what are we looking forward to in April? 🗓️🤷♂️ We’ve been working with a global business on a well-being campaign. With the launch planned for next week, we can’t wait to talk more about that! Our website. It took us 18 months to get it sorted, and now it’s done, we want to keep improving it. Keep an eye out for new case studies and a whole new section. How did you end Q1, and what are you looking forward to as we enter Q2? I'd love to hear about it
