Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with a group of new developers, all eager to jumpstart their careers in tech! 🎉 Stim hosted a breakfast seminar where I got to share some tips and tricks for landing that first dev job, and it turned out to be a fantastic session. We had lots of engaging discussions, thoughtful questions, and shared insights that got everyone excited about the journey ahead. We talked about: - The unfair advantage of spending time on side projects; especially as newly graduated developers but really throughout your entire career. - Understanding that junior developers are not bringing skills to the table but their future potential. - The importance and how-to of quickly helping the recruiting manager understand that you're a safe bet. - How to network without feeling like a sleazeball and how powerful that will be for your longterm career.
