Week 2️⃣  of our #WholeLifeCarbon education! 🔑 Key message: There is already a *workable policy framework* to follow which member states can follow – there’s no need to start from scratch! 🟢 The policy design process and the design features of WLC regulations developed by the Nordic countries have worked for #INDICATE pilot countries and is a workable framework for other countries to follow. 🟢 The INDICATE countries – Spain, Ireland and Czechia - have shown that this is possible if action is taken now. Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Patrick O'Donovan TD has today welcomed a report which shows a substantial increase in the numbers of people engaged in lifelong learning in the final quarter of last year. The findings, published in a report compiled by the Skills and Labour Market Research Unit (SLMRU) in SOLAS using the CSO’s Labour Force Survey, revealed Ireland’s lifelong learning (LLL) rate increased to 14 per cent in quarter 4 of 2023, compared to just under 12 per cent during the same period the previous year. However, the Minister added that even more needs to be done if Ireland is to successfully face current and future challenges in a rapidly changing world. ➡https://lnkd.in/etnXR6Xa

Good to see this news finally in the public domain. Will provide excellent opportunities for Australia’s investments in education to draw down on Australian expertise and for learning across the whole portfolio to happen more easily.

Our next funding call will be opening in October this year and will be for Pathway 2, Partnerships and Strategic Collaboration applications. Pathway 2 supports the sharing of knowledge, expertise and collaborative learning between Welsh and international organisations, to develop theory and practice in education within Wales and internationally. It's an opportunity to work collaboratively with international partners to tackle an issue or sector priority that exists in Wales. These projects will focus on developing and implementing innovative practices in education through the creation of a project output, which will be shared across Wales and beyond. This Pathway aims to have real impact in areas aligned with Welsh priorities and policies in the education and youth sectors. We’ve just launched a new initiative with the Australian Government to enhance education in the Asia-Pacific region. EdARC will play a key role in improving education across the Asia-Pacific by providing better evidence and expertise to inform policies and programs. EdARC will foster collaborative learning, build strong regional partnerships and build capabilities to drive impactful, sustainable change in education. 

Meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Trade and Industry- beneficiaries of Erasmus+ project Green WB.
