Plan A works best. Those living in the communities know what they need most and how best to implement.
ForAfrika works with partners in African communities to realise their “Plan A”. We listen to the priorities of our people and together design programmes that lead to transformation. 🌍 #AfricaIndustrialisationDay! While celebrating #Africa #Industrialisationday, we stress that industrialisation is key to sustainable development, economic transformation, and job creation in Africa. But did you know that land governance plays a crucial role in this process? Secure and equitable access to land supports infrastructure development, fosters investments, and enables communities to thrive. Through research, capacity building, and policy dialogue, Network of Excellence on Land Governance in Africa -NELGA is working to strengthen land governance systems across Africa—laying the groundwork for industrial and economic growth. #AfricaIndustrializationDay #LandGovernance #NELGA #SustainableDevelopment

As Ghana, along with many other African nations, strives for development, a pressing question emerges: must this development mirror that of others, or can we leverage our unique resources and contexts to progress according to our distinct needs, standards, and aspirations? Consider, for instance, our persistent housing deficit — could it be attributed, in part, to our adherence to a singular construction approach, overlooking potentially more cost-effective alternatives? These are not assertions but rather thought-provoking inquiries into the paradigm of development and the avenues it may take.

⚡️The Transparent Cities Program (TI Ukraine) studied the use of the DREAM - Digital Restoration EcoSystem for Accountable Management on the local level. Most of the Ukrainian cities have already begun to use the DREAM system. As of May, more than 1,300 projects with a total budget of about UAH 80 billion (USD 1.9 billion) are planned to be implemented in these communities. Among the positive aspects mentioned by the participating cities are: ▪️ Convenience in systematizing projects; ▪️ Access to the information by the potential investors and partners; ▪️ Transparency and accountability of the recovery process; ▪️ Possibility for the public to track all stages of projects. ❗️However, local self-government bodies should do more to promote the system, educate their residents about its full potential, and encourage monitoring of projects and their funding. ❗️The DREAM system should be mandatory for use in all cities. 🔎 Read more details of the study and the recommendations of the Transparent Cities Program 👉 https://bitly.cx/ivC9
