Enjoyed reading the Dixa 2024 guide to customer service benchmarks. Interestingly, while phone significantly outperforms all other channels in customer outcome metrics like CSAT, handling time is the lowest on e-mail and first response time is lowest on live chat (likely aided by chatbots). Despite e-mail having a lower handling time, this can be skewed by the number of back and forth getting to resolution which is more likely to happen in one interaction on the phone.
