Hear me out, lame analogy incoming: AI is the Roomba of Customer Support ...right? A friend once told me, "Roombas are cool because they do a good first pass, but usually, you need to do another pass to finish the job." AI support in its current state is similar, is it not? Whether it's chatbots, ticket deflection, agent assist, or otherwise... it's super useful as a first pass, but still leaves room for human effort. The only difference is one is meant to suck a lot and the other is meant to suck a little. Agree or am I off my rocker? 😂

People are great, we love people. But people are not machines. We are not built for consistency and memory. We say things in different ways depending on how we feel and we forget things from time to time. Instead of training people in customer support to be more “machine”-like with their responses by using shortcuts, quick replies and canned responses Why not cut the middle-person and just… use a machine (or an AI agent, in this case) to answer questions consistently and accurately?
