According to recent photos, the vessel has been repainted in U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker red and the transom at the stern of the ship reveals the likely new name: Storis. This news comes after Aiviq arrived at Tampa Ship LLC in Florida, a leading repair and conversion facility. The repainting and potential name change signal a significant transformation for the vessel, which will likely enhance its operational capabilities and identity within the maritime sector. The U.S. Coast Guard operates a fleet of icebreakers that play a crucial role in maintaining safe navigation in polar regions.
