“A greener economy could bring millions of jobs to some of the largest countries in Africa, according to a new report.Research by the development agency FSD Africa and the impact advisory firm Shortlist predicts that 3.3 million jobs could be generated across the continent by 2030.Forecasting Green Jobs in Africa predicts that 60% of the roles, mainly in the renewable energy sector, will be skilled or white collar positions that can “spur the growth of the middle class in countries with high-growth sectors” such as renewable energy, e-mobility, construction and manufacturing.” - Caroline Kimeu

One thing we don’t talk about enough is how difficult it is to access open-source data in Nigeria. Unlike other countries with unified data systems, Nigeria faces significant gaps that make data-driven projects quite challenging. Recently, my team and I embarked on a project under InternPulse to analyze the market demand for renewable energy products in Nigeria as part of building 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗛𝘂𝗯 a unified marketplace for renewable energy solutions. It wasn’t easy - especially finding reliable data - but we worked together, brainstormed ideas, and found creative ways to overcome the challenges and provide useful insights. It has been series of learnings, collaborations, and wins! 💡 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 (Damilare Adefowope, Diseph D. and I) conducted the market demand analysis to help Renergy Hub understand demand trends for renewable energy products like inverters, solar panels, batteries, and wind turbines.
