Children of parents deployed in the military face unique challenges that can significantly impact their well-being and development. From coping with parental absence to adjusting to frequent relocations, these children need dedicated assistance to thrive amidst the challenges of military life. Some struggles include: • Emotional stress and anxiety stemming from parental separation • Difficulty adjusting to frequent relocations and changes in schools and communities • Behavioral issues and academic struggles due to the disruption in routine and support systems Support and resources available/worth seeking: • Military Family Life Counselors offering counseling services to help children cope with emotional challenges • Military Family Support Centers providing programs and activities to strengthen family bonds and foster community connections such as @militaryfamilyorg (a percentage of all Couples’ Coffee Co sales are donated to this organization)  • Schools offering support systems such as counselors and support groups to assist military-connected children in adjusting to new environments We know this can be a difficult time to navigate, but know we’re here for you. PTSD is a hard disease that plagues our Veterans and First Responders daily. Sometimes they Don't realize it affects them as bad as it does. More importantly it affects our families as well. At the core, Veterans and First Responders at times don't understand how to process all the emotions they are feeling. A lot of times they try using avoidance as a way to cope with their trauma. The Warfighters Mission's Computers for Heroes Program was designed to give the Warfighters a chance at life again. We build these custom computers and give them to our Warfighters who are struggling to leave the house due to PTSD. Our hope is that they will be able to attend our Peer Support or Ministry services online with the hope that it will get them to possibly attend in person. As we all know, a lot of things to include Dr. Appointments are now being held remotely online. This will at least afford them a little more freedom. 🌟Supporting Our Service Men and Women: $275,000 for the WAVES Program🌟 The Hospital Research Foundation Group (THRFG) and Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (a charity of the THRFG) are proud to announce a $275,000 commitment to extend the WAVES Program (Wellbeing for Australian Veterans and Emergency Services), providing vital support for current and former serving military personnel and first responders. 💙 Granted to the University of South Australia who developed and run the program, the funding will expand its reach, offering sport and exercise opportunities to aid physical, emotional, and psychological recovery. It will also include support for family carers and provide valuable training for students in allied health. 👨👩👦👦 This will allow the WAVES Program to continue its life-changing work, helping hundreds of individuals overcome challenges and heal through sport, goal setting, and community engagement. Day 3 - THRIVE Spousal Grants Through our THRIVE Programs, we aim to provide the Special Forces spouse community valuable resources tailored to their unique challenges of military life, especially during deployments. One incredible resource we offer is our Spousal Grants, designed to help active-duty Special Forces spouses pursue educational goals and professional development. These $1,000 grants are available twice a fiscal year to support coursework at accredited institutions, empowering spouses to invest in their futures while balancing the demands of military family life. Applications are open year-round, making it easier for spouses to take the next step in their education whenever they’re ready.
