This is absolutely one of my favorite bikes. It looks amazing, it’s fantastic to ride and it’s very versatile. A week riding this beauty has been a pure pleasure. As my motorcycle journey began back in the 1990’s, long before ABS and all other convenience technology was introduced on bikes (yes, unfortunately I am that old...) I can really appreciate a bike like the R12, which feels untamed and pure, a bit rough around the edges so to speak. Sure it has the convenience of quick-shift, ABS, DTC etc but all tech has been disguised very well, by design I would assume. It has that raw unrefined clutch that requires a smooth handling and makes you feel as if you’re riding a classic bike but with the benefit of modern engine power. The torque is potent for sure and if you release clutch too fast it will cringe even from gear 5 and 6. And wobbling around in 120 km/h on semi-narrow countryside road is not something I would recommend making a habit of.. This bike does make an impression on almost everyone. People give positive remarks whenever you park somewhere. This is also a favorite one of my kids who comes running as soon they hear the engine approaching the house pleading that we ride around the neighborhood with them taking turns sitting on the back (which as a responsible parent I promptly say no to obviously…). Anyway, if you have a driving license for motorbike this is one I would strongly recommend to take for test ride. It will be a different experience to what you are used to, I can guarantee it! #E-Bike Articles explains the 3 types of #E-bike categories, which defined the amount of power & how the power can be used. Category 1 has a max speed of 20mph & is pedal assist. Pedal assist means you must be pedaling before the power kicks in. Category 2 Is the same speed, 20 mph but can be activated by the throttle, a Category 2 e-bike does not need to be pedaled to be ridden. Category 3 is an e-bike that is pedal assist but has a top speed of 28 mph. Only WV & ME use the terms pedal assist in their statutes. CA is only state to use the Categories in its statutes. Our newest Apollo Lite e-bike has been gracing the streets of Wellington for a month. Although it's little, it's already made a huge impact. The Apollo Lite boasts a range of hardware upgrades, including a broader adjustable seat height (supporting heights from 1.55m) to accommodate a wider range of rider heights, a more lightweight frame for easier manoeuvring, smaller handlebars, and wider tires for a smoother ride across uneven surfaces. Let's talk numbers: 📈 We've seen a whopping 50% increase in e-bike trips across Wellington on the new Apollo Lite. 💼 The increase has been powered by older riders and commuter trips, with 35% of e-bike riders aged between 25 - 34, and 50% of e-bike riders aged over 35. 🚴♀️ They're riding for longer! 28% longer in fact. 🚲 Riders love the increased seat range, with increased usage in particular amongst riders of lower heights. 30% of Apollo Lite riders are between 156-165cm. 💜 When asked which Apollo Lite feature has been the most impactful, 38% of riders picked the greater seat range, 35% of riders picked the lighter weight of the frame. We're thrilled with the results, and look forward to bringing the Apollo Lite to a city near you.

I am clearly a lucky human. Being offered a brand new Zero DRS/X electric motorcycle for a week or so is a generous opportunity that I jumped at, of course. The DSR/X is the latest generation in a long line of dual sport bikes from #Californian electric motorcycle stalwart Zero Motorcycles who have a growing presence in #Australia. I’ve owned two previous models, a 2010 DS and a 2014 DS, so it was a great chance to see how they’ve evolved over a decade. I’ll say from the outset that there are plenty of reviews of Zero’s latest range of bikes targeted at #ICE bike owners, so my review has a slightly different focus. Primarily, I’m going to focus on what it’s like as an #EV, but let’s get a few things out of the way first. Australian #motorcyclists love dual sport bikes because we have lots of crappy roads, plenty of dirt and a sense of adventure. Although long distance and round the world trips been proven to be possible on an #electricmotorcycle, if you want to regularly tour remote backroads or do huge rides of 500-1000km it remains a big challenge for most people. However, if you are like the majority of dual sport owners and mostly do commuting with the occasional adventury weekend ride or, you live in a regional area the DSR/X is definitely worth a serious look and has a big bunch of ownership benefits. You will pay a premium for being an early electric motorcycle adopter and the DSR/X will set you back $47k plus. However, you’ll save thousands each year in maintenance and fuel costs (I save around $3k per year). In any case, motorcycles are rarely purchased on economic, or any other type of rationale logic, so stop thinking so hard and just test ride one if you think making the switch is on your radar.
