"You're more than just a LinkedIn coach." This is what I've heard and it's beautiful, I love the intention, and also it's true, because coaching individuals on LinkedIn is a small part of my job. I mostly work on bigger projects for marketing strategy or as a fractional Ethical Marketing Director: B2B hospitality technology I also understand it. Because what I deliver IS more than LinkedIn coaching: we work on mindset, self esteem, career development, life hacks, marketing strategy. We also have a laugh. So I get it - it's more than what people expect. (And I'll take that!) BUT... I have a bugbear with the word "just". Just nothing. All jobs are dignified. In my lifetime I've been: --> A mom. --> A nanny. --> A cleaner. --> A waitress --> An executive. --> A hostess in Tokyo. --> A double glazing seller. --> A manual labourer in the fields. 𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒆: 𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 "𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕". 𝑨𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆: 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒂𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒅𝑰𝒏. But it's easy to spot someone who knows their oats - check the profile, check the posts they are dropping, does that person feel like someone intelligent and fun to work with?? 👀 If so... LinkedIn is an amaaaazing way to: --> Find clients. --> Find a new job. --> Reach an audience. --> Fill sales pipeline for your company. We NEED experts and coaches who have (as I have) dedicated time to learn and keep up with the trends, and who create methods to reach your goals. So, "just" nothing. Here's to coaches, LinkedIn or otherwise, serving others to do better! 🥂 What jobs have you done?!

Linkedin 2024 has been a wild ride compared to the 5.5 years before. Here’s what I’ve learnt in the last 6 months about content creation on Linkedin. We all know every content creator’s reach is down. Personally: ✈️ Some of my posts fly 🐌 Some bumble along in a land of tumble weeds I can spend HOURS on a post that I think is banging… …and it flops. This stings - but we’ve all have them. Other times I’ve planned my time badly I wing what I consider a shitty post together in less than 5 minutes and it flys to over 1000 likes/engagement. But this doesn’t necessarily mean success. For example - my biggest post in the last 90 days was 😱 1350 - likes and engagements That’s the type of post you may assume my inbox exploded with enquiries right? It didn’t. Literally Zero. Meanwhile, my smallest post in last 90 was: 😱 44 - likes and engagements A client decided to enrol due to that post. My point: For 6 years I have correlated engagement with enquiries In my experience the more engagement a post got the more interest it generated. It certainly doesn’t work that way for me anymore. Remember: ~ Big posts don’t always generate income ~ Don’t devalue small posts. ~ They’re often appealing to a smaller mass of people. So in summary over all: ~ My engagements are down ~ My reach is down ~ My client list has gone up! So what does this actually mean? It means I currently have a small handful of high achievers on a waiting list to start 1-1 coaching. I’ve run my business for 6 years now. ↳ in the last 3.5 years alone I’ve been fully booked more than once. BUT my prices haven’t budged in that 3.5 year period. Nada! (MUCH to the fustration of my biz coach) 😂 Problem is, I like money but it’s not a pure motivator for me. Im driven by seeing people become ~ more sure of themselves ~ better bad-ass communicators ~ and stronger leaders (stronger humans). So ….. just so you know The investment to work with me is going up on 1st July. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step! I finally made it! Congratulations to myself! The 14 Day boot camp on LinkedIn was nothing more than learning, exploring and navigating this professional platform. The hardest part of it was the starting point. Clicking on icons that I am not familiar with. Clicking on terms that I am not familiar with. I am definitely a moulded person with a sharp mind now. The session was so involving, interactive and so helpful. I am so proud to have known Miss Muthoni Njoroge, the brain behind the Linkedin boot camp. You have a big heart, that listens, advises and guides whenever you are needed. I was so green here, but you never gave up on me. You took care of my empty brain but now I am full of wisdom. I know I have a long way to go, but the good thing is that I have just started. May God continue blessing you, and may you never lack wisdom, never ever. My gratitude goes to my young brother, Elvis Warutumo. Your no-nonsense voice pushed me to take personal development skills. Not a minute passes without you mentioning skills. At one point I wondered if skills are a part of your daily menu. But the knowledge I acquired from you is an investment for life. During the meet up session, you shared ideas and tips on how to monetize on websites. The passion you have in your career is so compelling to others. I recommend your skill courses to anyone who is lost in the world of career choice. I had the chance to meet two special guests, Amb. Maryben Omollo and Pauline Kathure Kiraithe. The soft spoken Amb. Maryben Omollo shared lights on Leadership. Who is a leader? A person who takes people to where they want to be. Leadership is practiced in our homes and at the work place. Leadership is influential, and one must understand him or herself. That was my take home from her. Visibility, This was broadly explained by our lovely guest Pauline Kathure Kiraithe . She emphasised on the remaining top of mind. Take up speak up meetings to build your brand. Talk about the things you know without the need to sell. Engage the market in order to understand it. Build your brand independently. No end to this information. This is just a recap. Then finally a big thank you to my able team. Success Theater • Rented cars • Fake screenshots • "Humble" brags    Reality: We all know that's not your jet. 4. The Content Regurgitation • Copying viral posts • Sharing without adding value • Posting motivational quotes    Fact: Gary doesn't need your help sharing his content. The Simple Formula That Works: • Be genuinely helpful • Share real experiences • Engage authentically • Repeat daily Your Daily LinkedIn Checklist: 1. Help 3 people 2. Share 1 genuine insight 3. On this point, you need to aim for 3 out of 3 on LinkedIn. I'm currently at 1 out of 3 ... I’m working on it though – and here’s how. When we post on LinkedIn there are 3 business aims we are trying to work through. 1. Getting attention (Top of the Funnel) 2. Developing interest & trust and creating desire (Middle of the Funnel) 3. Getting people to take action (Bottom of the Funnel) I’m very good at phase 2. I like to help so I post: ✔ advice on how to use LinkedIn more effectively ✔ ideas on ways to solve business requirements with LinkedIn ✔ new features on the site that could be of benefit ✔ tips, suggestions and videos on getting more from it Great – but I’m not attracting new people to help or spreading my own personal branding widely enough. Not enough 'Top of the Funnel' to attract people to what I do. I need to spread the word further, maybe use 'mentions', tags or Groups, as well as comment on posts to bring new people into the conversations. In terms of posting, think about topics such as: 👉 You at a Trade Show or a networking event (photos are good!) 👉 Introducing yourself or 5 things people won't know about you 👉 A book or film that inspired you 👉 Your thoughts on an Industry story These all give greater insight about you and create curiosity - I need to give a little more in that respect. Now what about the Convert part and the 'Bottom of the Funnel'. I need more people to act on what they're reading and buy from me ... essentially pay for me to train them or their team. So, I need to: 💥 show the results people achieve with my training 💥 ask for and post recommendations 💥 show why I am different to other trainers 💥 outline different ways people can work with me (Team training / 1-2-1) I need to be better at getting encouraging them to take action – maybe you’re the same? Remember: 🔑 when you post, remember what you are trying to achieve and try to create posts that cover each of the different areas Though not all at the same time!
