Let’s take a moment to revisit the highlights of MangaChat at the TS2 Demo Day on July 25th! We were honored to participate in the National University of Singapore's Technology for Sustainable Social Impact (TS2) Startup Accelerator program. MangaChat integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with gamification and generative AI, transforming children's words into comics while using AI to support caregivers in providing positive guidance to improving parent-child communication. By employing technology and data-driven methods, we aim to address the global issue of children's mental health. Our COO, Renee Chong, was the keynote speaker on Demo Day, where we received tremendous support and applause! The encouragement and recognition we received for our efforts in supporting children's mental health filled every member of our team with confidence and joy.

Are you a rule-breaker, blue-sky thinking, or do you prefer to be methodical and offer practical solutions? ‘Everyone has a preferred way of thinking and doing things – from how we like to solve problems to how we like to organise our space. Dr Michael Kirton, created the Kirton Adaption-Innovation Inventory (KAI) to measure one’s problem-solving style.’ ‘Findings indicate a relationship with those diagnosed with ADHD and a more innovative problem-solving style.’ While KAI is relevant to everyone, neurodiverse people might be especially interested in joining the upcoming ‘brainfood for lunch’. You’ll learn more about KAI and why it is so important. We believe that cognitive diversity is the key for tackling the world’s increasingly complex problems. Let’s start with a discussion about how KAI fit in with neurodiversity… The February edition is about ‘Embracing Cognitive Diversity for Success and Happiness’, created by Nicola Kirton, FRSA. Join us for an interactive learning journey and connect with curious and colorful minded people on February 28 from noon to 1pm (Eastern Time): https://lnkd.in/dXm9cJ6x Source: ‘Valuing cognitive diversity and ADHD in the workplace’ written by Tracy Reader; https://lnkd.in/d33rnyvm #blueativity #blueativitybrainfood #brainfoodforlunch #empoweryourbrain #neurodiversity #kai #cognitivediversity

It's Monday evening, which means that we had Session 2 of ACT-U with Alexandra Newell M.S., BCBA. Tonight I asked if it was possible that some of the ABA field is in a state of "fusion" regarding some of our well-established practices. This is the definition Google's AI gives for fusion: "In Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), fusion is a technical term that refers to when someone becomes attached to their thoughts, memories, assumptions, and beliefs, and can't separate themselves from them." Would you agree that perhaps sometimes BCBAs make clinical decisions based on beliefs instead of their own clinical intuition or what may be clinically indicated because of what research done in 1-2 specialized journals suggests is gold standard? This particularly strikes me in terms of dosage and rigidity when it comes to approach concepts that have been traditionally been seen as mentalistic like mental health. I'm excited to learn about how ACT can be applied in a behavior analytic framework and how private events that cause experiential avoidance can be tackled effectively through mindfulness and moving towards discomfort. Also, check out Alexandra Newell M.S., BCBA and ACT-U. Our cohort is already on to session 3 but you should totally join next round! #AppliedBehaviorAnalysis #ABA #ACT #AcceptanceandCommitmentTherapy

The groundbreaking achievement by REMspace in enabling communication between two individuals during lucid dreams opens up exciting possibilities for mental health therapy, particularly in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This innovative technology could revolutionize therapeutic approaches and provide new avenues for intervention and support.Potential Impact on PTSD Therapy Dream-based Exposure Therapy: Communication during lucid dreams could allow therapists to guide patients through controlled exposure to traumatic memories in a safe, dream environment. This approach might help individuals process and desensitize traumatic experiences more effectively than traditional exposure therapy methods.Real-time Intervention: Therapists could potentially intervene during nightmares or anxiety-inducing dreams, helping patients redirect their dream narratives and develop coping strategies in real-time.Enhanced Memory Processing: The ability to communicate during dreams might facilitate the integration and processing of traumatic memories, potentially accelerating the healing process for individuals with PTSD.Potential Impact on Autism Therapy Social Skills Training: Lucid dream communication could provide a controlled environment for individuals with ASD to practice social interactions and communication skills without the overwhelming sensory input of real-world situations.Sensory Integration: This technology might allow therapists to help individuals with ASD process and integrate sensory information in a dream state, potentially improving their ability to manage sensory challenges in waking life.Emotional Regulation: Dream-based therapy could offer a unique platform for individuals with ASD to explore and understand emotions in a safe, controlled setting, potentially enhancing emotional regulation skills.Broader Implications Personalized Treatment Plans: The ability to communicate during dreams could lead to more personalized and effective treatment plans for both PTSD and ASD, tailored to each individual's specific needs and experiences.Research Opportunities: This breakthrough opens up new avenues for research into the nature of consciousness, memory processing, and the potential therapeutic applications of dream states.Ethical Considerations: As with any groundbreaking technology, there will be important ethical considerations to address, such as privacy concerns and the potential for misuse of dream communication. While the long-term impact of this technology remains to be seen, the potential for improving mental health treatments, particularly for individuals with PTSD and ASD, is significant. As research progresses, we may see a transformation in how these conditions are approached and treated, offering new hope for those affected by these challenging disorders.

This is the closest thing to telepathy! 🤯 The first communication between two humans in dreams is here - and its crazy! REMspace, a Silicon Valley startup, achieved a historic milestone by enabling communication between two people during lucid dreams. Using specialized devices to monitor brain activity, the first participant received a word from a dream language called "Remmyo" and repeated it in their dream. The second participant, also in a lucid state, confirmed receiving the same message upon waking. This breakthrough could have significant implications for mental health therapy and education. What impact do you think it will have? __________ If you liked this, join Superhuman - my newsletter with 800K+ readers that teaches you how to leverage AI to boost your productivity: https://lnkd.in/dEmezNQ2
