Those grants have helped farmers add solar power, support pollinators, reduce their water usage, build soil health, and more. We also source fruit from many small farms that practice sustainable farming methods. A: Yes! Our packaging is reusable at the consumer level, recyclable, and compostable. We use nontoxic inks and 100% recycled cardboard. Our packaging materials meet B Lab’s independent standards for environmental impact. Have a question we didn’t answer? 🚨🚨 Recent company announcement! 🚨🚨 ☀️☀️☀️☀️🌳🌳🌳🌳🐝🐝🐝🐝♻️♻️♻️♻️ birdbros has implemented over £1million worth of sustainability measures across its production and packing sites. Through solar panel installation, and internal and external PIR motion detecting LED lighting, the facility has reduced its energy consumption by 66% this year alone. The news follows the company’s ongoing shift towards using lower emissions vehicles, as well as cutting edge software planning programmes to ensure delivery routes reduce travel times and therefore carbon emissions. birdbros’s commitment to sustainability extends to packaging, which wherever possible is made of wood pulp or RPET recycled plastic, and secured with recyclable paper tape. The company’s free-range laying sites are also home to beehives and wildflower meadows to support biodiversity. Matthew Bird, commercial director at birdbros, said: “As a well-established UK producer and packer of eggs, and one that has been trading for over 55 years, we wouldn’t be where we are today without evolving to the needs of our customers and the broader world that we’re part of. “The farming industry has made huge strides on sustainability during the past decade, and we’re proud to be a part of an industry acting on several fronts, from reducing our energy consumption, to wildlife preservation and biodiversity improvements. “These are just some of the changes we’ve recently actioned, but we nurture an environment here at birdbros, where our people are encouraged to offer up new ideas where future improvements can be made, so our work here continues.” For more information on birdbros’s environmental impact, visit: https://lnkd.in/gW74V_kc #birdbroseggs #eggsupplier #eastanglia #foodproducer #birdbrosfoodco #responsiblefoodproducer

Day 4 of the ECO30 Sustainable living challenge is buying local produce and it's benefits. This is such an important challenge and this my pepper which I bought it in the market. Purchasing local produce can have a huge impact on the environment and the local economy. By supporting local farms, you're helping to: ~reduce the amount of energy and resources needed to transport food from faraway places. ~Plus, local farms often use more sustainable practices, such as organic farming, which reduces the amount of pesticides and other chemicals used on crops. ~This also helps to preserve local biodiversity and protect the health of the soil. Yeah🤗You're🫵🏾 making a difference in so many ways, simply by buying local produce! 👏 #ECO30Impact - my little step to saving mother Earth☺️🤭

Sustainability is a big word and is challenging to implement in practice. In Netafim, we have been doing it for more than 58 years. Day after day, we go out to the field to support the farmers in their efforts to Grow More With Less and benefit not only our generation but also those who are yet to come. We will continue to strive for a better, circular, sustainable future for all humanity. Happy recycling day, happy circularity! (If you want to know how we do it, look at the first comment and contact me!)
