The #EuropeanCommission adopted the 2025 Work Programme of the European Innovation Council (#EIC). It opens funding opportunities worth over €1.4 billion for strategic technologies and scaling up companies. The EIC funding and support in 2025: #EICPathfinder (€262 million) for multi-disciplinary research teams to undertake visionary research with the potential to lead to technology breakthroughs (grants up to €4 million). #EICTransition (€98 million) to turn research results into innovation opportunities, following up on results generated by EIC Pathfinder projects, European Research Council Proof of Concept projects and open to project results from Horizon collaborative projects from Pillar 2/ societal challenges (grants up to €2.5 million). #EICAccelerator (€634 million) for start-ups and SMEs to develop and scale up innovations with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones (grants below €2.5 million, investments from €0.5 to €10 million). The EIC Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) Scale Up (€300 million), which will provide additional equity funding to promising companies (SMEs, start-ups, spin-offs and small mid-caps) driving innovation in critical areas to help them secure larger private co-investment for further scaling their businesses (investments from €10 to €30 million). European Innovation on the move! We are excited to share the insights from the first report on the New European Innovation Agenda (NEIA) 📈 The report showcases the remarkable strides made in driving innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth across 🇪🇺. Twenty months after its launching, this roadmap is in full swing: 13 out of its 25 actions have been completed, 1 is ongoing and more than 200 measures have been taken by Member States and Associated Countries💡 The NEIA builds on existing successful programmes (such as the European Innovation Council - EIC, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology - EIT, or InvestEU) but introduced new elements, such as: ➡ New Directives proposed by the Commission to facilitate listing for SMEs and to encourage investments in equity. ➡New or expanded mechanisms to encourage venture capital, such as ESCALAR or the European Tech Champions Initiative. ➡Networks of regions (European Innovation Valleys), of Universities (ErasmusPlus Alliances for Innovation) and of promising scale-ups (EIC-Scale Up 100 Club) launched or about to be launched. ➡Actions in the areas of innovation procurement, experimentation spaces or stock options for employees ➡Training opportunities such as the EIT deep-tech talent initiative, addressed to 1 million young innovators The European Agenda and the complementary actions taken by Member States offer an impressive picture of a vibrant and dynamic landscape, focused on competitiveness, strategic autonomy and green/digital transitions. 🌍 Advancing Innovation and Collaboration On 12 December, Marcel Bogers and Iza Heltzel had the honor of presenting the COOPERATE project to a delegation from Portugal and Spain representing the DRIVEN Project: Open Innovation Driven Economy at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven campus. This insightful meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the work being done within COOPERATE and its alignment with the goals of DRIVEN. The DRIVEN Project seeks to foster a Cross-Border Innovation Ecosystem, designed to address strategic business and industrial challenges. By aligning resources, research, and technological development capacity with the real needs of industrial SMEs, the initiative supports industrial transformation and stimulates technology-based entrepreneurship, contributing to the smart specialization strategies of the three participating regions. We are proud to demonstrate how COOPERATE contributes to these shared objectives through the development of ERA Hubs, focusing on collaboration-driven solutions within regional ecosystems that connect place-based innovation directly to industrial and societal needs. IOIP Resources Innovation Edition 2024 The first edition of the International Open Innovation Program https://lnkd.in/eZ9nk2Zc IOIP is the International Open Innovation Programme based in Emilia-Romagna region, that aims at supporting companies to address specific business challenges by creating strategic matches with other actors of the international innovation ecosystem. The program involves two types of actors: 21 selected companies from the Emilia-Romagna Region and Italian and international Solvers coming from both the Business and Research world, in particular micro-enterprises, SMEs, scale-ups, start-ups, spin-offs, laboratories, research groups and researchers.
