Bridle Paths GivingTuesday is on!!!! Every day, our healing herd gives our community the gifts of presence, acceptance, and trust. The ability to come as you are, and be who you are, in the presence of our horses helps those with invisible injuries to be vulnerable in a safe space, and to reclaim the power associated with being fully seen, heard, and understood. Consider the sentiments expressed by a group of combat veterans who recently completed an equine-assisted psychotherapy series with our herd: "Learning about the horses' stories tells me something about who they were. Both we and the horses have experiences and scars, but who we were is not who we're going to be. Speculation is different from presence - I don't know where life will take me, so I take things one day at a time as the horses do. The horses bring back emotions you thought you'd forgotten forever, and you feel alive again. Combat felt natural to me - nothing else mattered. I fought every second as if it was my last. I felt my strongest when I didn't dwell on what had happened or what could happen. Horses bring that feeling back. Creating Community Impact, One Bowl at a Time 🏌️♂️ Yesterday, TurnBerry Acai had the privilege of being part of something bigger than ourselves. We joined forces with the Canada Shriners Hospital for their 13th Annual Invitational at Summerlea Golf & Country Club. The goal? To raise $1 million for life-changing medical imaging technology that keeps children safe. When we launched TurnBerry Acai 7 months ago, we didn’t just set out to make the best acai bowls in the city — we set out to make a difference. Our mission quickly evolved into "creating an everlasting community impact that transcends acai. One bowl at a time. One city at a time." 🌍 From university campuses to charity events like this one, being there for our community isn’t just a priority—it’s who we are. And no matter how fast we grow, this will never change. Should've prepped the 150 bowls in advance, but I've always been a crash course type of student haha! Could've been a disaster if dad was not here to carry the boat (insert David Goggins)! PS: I was a bit starstruck when I got to meet Montreal Canadiens' legend Chris Nilan haha! I personally prefer smart people as my team members. A king had many powerful war horses. The outstanding contribution of these war horses in winning many battles of the king was the fame of the king! In addition to keeping horses, the king also kept many donkeys. Seeing so much expenditure on horses, the vizier-nazir often complained to the king about the horses: Horses are ungainly, not easily brought into the bug, they are not used day after day, but they are well spent." The king himself noticed that when he visited the horses in the stables, the horses were not treated properly. But when the donkeys went to the stable, the donkeys started licking the king's hands and feet. One day the Wazir-Nazir advised the king to sell the horses, and with the money from the sale of the horses, take more care of the old donkeys and buy more and more new donkeys. Then the war horses were sold at a high price to the weak king of the neighboring kingdom and many donkeys were bought. A few days later. The king of the neighboring kingdom attacked the kingdom of the 'horse selling king' and captured the kingdom very easily! The new king of the kingdom asked the captive king, "There is no question in your mind why you lost this battle!" "Why?" said the captive king. The new king said, you lose for 3 reasons: 1) You have forgotten those who contributed (horses) behind your becoming king. 2) You consider a flattering donkey more important than a horse. You start making decisions based on the donkeys around you. (Your viziers were real donkeys). 3) After all donkey is a necessary animal but it did not occur to you that the work of a war horse cannot be done with a donkey. I don't know in which book, where or by whom it is written but the story is really nice and has a much deeper meaning. But even though it is a story, it is very similar to reality and 100% true.
