Port of Milford Haven has installed the SWIFT man-overboard recovery system on its pilot boat Picton for a rigorous three-month trial in some of the UK’s toughest maritime conditions. Already tested in 2.5m swells, SWIFT is proving its value for rapid and safe MOB recovery in extreme seas. It’s great to see this technology in action in real-world conditions. When seas are rough and every second counts, a system like SWIFT is crucial for fast, efficient rescues—helping protect crews when they need it most. 🚢 What information should be exchanged when changing the watch? In a collaboration between IVR (EU), EOC Onderlinge Schepenverzekering UA, TVM verzekeringen, Platform Zero Incidents, RSA, Allianz, Nationale-Nederlanden and Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management), a guideline has been drawn up with tips for a proper handover in the wheelhouse - and thus for safe (continued) navigation. ⚓ The guide provides tips on sharing information on crew, sailing route, weather forecast, depth, VHF channel status and cargo, among others. 💡 In practice, we see that insufficient attention when changing the watch can increase the risks. Just think of the annual number of bridge collisions and related wheelhouse damage and demurrage. .....on going progress on the IAH Terminal B Transformation which includes Page's work on the Terminal Building..........initial demo of the East Helix shown in the video. The second video of one of the bridges spanning the terminal roadway to the ex-flight stations, shows one of the trickiest parts of the de-construction as it occurs over active vehicle traffic lanes.

The Australian Government and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) have announced $4.2 million in grants will be dedicated to industry-led road safety projects through round 10 of the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI), in a major funding boost to heavy vehicle safety. “Through the past nine rounds of the HVSI, we have been able to support implementable, value-for-money projects that deliver tangible improvements to heavy vehicle safety" NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto OAM said. Round 10 project submissions must directly address at least one of the themes – safer drivers, safer vehicles or safer road use, with any business or association involved in the heavy vehicle industry looking to address a safety gap or issue encouraged to apply for the grants program.
