📣 This week marks a significant milestone in the maritime industry's transition from fossil fuels to green shipping.
💪 We are excited about Equinor's initiative to strengthen the market and enhance predictability in adopting ammonia as a sustainable fuel in offshore shipping. Their invitation for offshore shipping companies to submit proposals for supply vessels powered by ammonia underlines Norway's commitment to cleaner energy solutions in the maritime sector.
🚢 Hege Økland remarks, "This is a very important signal for all of us working towards establishing new supply chains for zero-emission fuels. We saw the importance of such initiatives when Equinor required batteries and shore power in new contracts. Similarly, this trend could mark the beginning of scaling up and industrialising technology for ammonia as fuel, accompanied by its respective supply chain."

Welcoming new members of Hyme's board of directors 👨💼👩💼
The grand opening of our pilot facility in Esbjerg (Denmark) marked an important milestone for us. Entering this next chapter of the journey we have invited more experts into the Hyme Board of Directors.
Hyme therefore welcomes Jakob Thomasen and Carsten Riisberg Lund as new board members. Adding their skill and experience to the team, we have what it takes to support us in bringing a new #thermalenergystorage technology to the market.
Jakob has previously been CEO of Maersk Oil and member of the Executive Board of A.P. Moller-Maersk and is a highly experienced leader in the energy sector. He has significant board experience in both corporate and start-up settings and will take on the role of Chair of the board. Carsten has a background as member of the Executive Management Board of FLSmidth and brings extensive board experience and a deep understanding of project delivery and project path to market.
The two will join the existing members: Barbara Taudorf Andersen, Vice Chair, Torben Wind and Ask Emil Løvschall-Jensen.
We are excited to continue the work together with the board to provide a groundbreaking solution for the decarbonization of #industrialheat and #utilities.
Did Equinor just 'hint' that they won the two Danish Onshore licenses they applied for? (Article below from Energywatch in Danish) 🤐
... if so we are not surprised... 😏
Rumors are that the winners of the Danish Onshore Storage licenses have received their official 'offer letters'. Meanwhile the rest of the CCS community are awaiting the official announcement which is expected any day!
The large O&G companies are definitely the favorites in the field given their vast experience with exploration, strong safety records (which is extremely important in a new industry, developing in your backyard), deep pockets - and the so-called takeback obligation.
What we hope to see at CCUS Partners is real action, and a push to execute the exploration programs safely and fast, to develop a new onshore storage industry in Denmark. We are also fans of competition, - and although the O&G majors are well-positioned - it would be great to see other types of winners to make sure the O&G majors are not exclusively sitting on all the European storage licenses...

SIGNED 🖊
Very pleased to announce that Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH) has signed the 'Academia agreement' with Equinor. Over the course of the next five years, the agreement enables us to conduct cutting-edge research with leading experts in our field.
Together with Professor Katarina Kaarbøe, I have the pleasure to head up a new research project called "Management of Data-Driven Organizations". The goal of the project is to study the drivers and the consequences of a data-driven approach to decision-making processes and management control 🖥 📈
Looking forward to what's ahead! 🌱

Bolt handling innovation challenge
G+ is being supported by Innovate UK to engage innovators to find solutions to mitigate potential health and safety incidents due to heavy lifting and manual handling challenges associated with bolt fixing activities in offshore wind.
Working with member Siemens Gamesa, installation technicians identified that if they could come up with an innovative solution for moving the bolts then it would reduce the manual handling.
All innovative ideas can be submitted here
https://lnkd.in/gMt8idWb
The challenge closes on 31st July and selected solution providers will get to present their concepts at the G+ Board and AGM in September. A big thanks to InnovateUK and SGRE for leading this challenge.
CEPSA becomes #Moeve 💙 ♻️
You might be wondering… what is this all about?..
Well, in my opinion, Moeve is 100% aligned with the vision that Europe, as a pioneer, implements and promotes with true and decisive actions, directing everything towards preserving planet Earth for future generations through the decarbonization of all possible processes.
It’s very hard to leave behind a brand like CEPSA I must admit, but change is the only constant in life, as Heraclitus once said. And CEPSA has always been a pioneer in its actions, and this rebranding tells us that we are determined in our #PositiveMotion and #NextChemicals strategy to be pioneers in the decarbonization of the business, inviting the entire industry to join us on this path that will only lead us to be examples for other continents more resistant to change.
We hope that the vision and mission of #Moeve spread to every corner of the world and, as I have said before, serve as motivation for everyone to build a more sustainable planet.
And speaking of changes and how constant they are… the only change I don’t expect is that we stop injecting so much good #energy into our daily work in every corner of the company. That must not change! 💪🏼💙
