It was great to see the hospitality industry coming together at Machine Hall for the inaugural Good Food Symposium. Guests heard from Callan Boys Alessandro Pavoni Huss Rachin, Palisa Anderson Rebecca Fanning and Patrick Ryan-Parker sharing their ideas and expertise on how to juggle the complexities of the current economic situation, staffing, pricing, social media and communication. As a newcomer into hospitality (Machine Hall Cafe) there were so many takeaways (pardon the pun 😩): Value creation is more about experience than price with familiar and more personal service driving loyalty - no more 'good evening Madam' A strong team culture can keep highly transient staff engaged. Giving them a shared vision of the future provides them with an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Staff are an extension of your brand so time invested in them is always time well spent. Google reviews are vital - so ask happy customers to post or only negatives prevail. Answer all negative reviews personally as this will enable brand messaging. Businesses need to be multi platform business, comms are crucial and EDM’s sitting in the shadow of socials are the key to drive immediate sales. Cheers! Nine #hospitality

Here’s another tip: When crafting the perfect Cosmopolitan, remember to shake the ingredients vigorously with ice before straining into a chilled martini glass. This technique not only chills the drink to perfection but also helps blend the flavors harmoniously, resulting in a well-balanced and refreshing cocktail that’s sure to impress your guests. Dine-arounds can be effective provided they are planned with care and strategy. Here are 5 practical tips for evolving your dine-arounds; Personalize the Experience: Tailor the event to the interests of your attendees. If you know your guests enjoy a certain type of cuisine or activity, incorporate that into your planning. Incorporate Learning Opportunities: People appreciate events where they can gain something valuable. Consider adding a brief, insightful presentation or discussion that provides value to the attendees. Mix Up the Format: Not all dine-arounds need to be formal dinners. Consider hosting a brunch, a wine tasting, or even a cooking class. The key is to create an engaging and memorable experience. Utilize Technology: Use digital invitations, follow-up surveys, and interactive elements during the dinner. This not only modernizes the experience but also provides valuable data you can use to improve future events. Engage During and After the Event: Keep the conversation going post-event. Send personalized follow-up messages, share photos from the event, and continue to engage with attendees on social media. Over the years, we've developed and refined numerous strategies to make dine-arounds more effective. By focusing on uniqueness, strategic guest selection, and evolving with the times, you can ensure that your dine-arounds are not just dinners but powerful tools for engagement and capital raising support. If you would like to discuss your conference and dine-around strategies, reach out to us. We'd love to help you out and share some of the unique ideas and strategies that have worked well in the industry. #ConferenceStrategy #EventPlanning #DineAround #IndustrySuccess

One of the best restaurant experiences I ever had was about much more than just the food. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and decided to try a new farm-to-table restaurant. Every moment of the meal was an experience. Each dish was introduced with exhaustive detail - where the ingredients were sourced, how they were grown, how they were prepared, and even the names of the farmers (well, maybe not that last part...). The story behind each dish made the meal unforgettable. The most memorable part of the evening wasn’t the food itself, but the attention and care the server took while pouring my drink. It was a thick red ale, and as he slowly poured it into my cold glass, he shared the story of the brewery. The meticulous five-minute pour showed an incredible attention to detail that left a lasting impression. Your focus and attention to detail matter. Even if some of those details are invisible to your audience, they make a difference. How do you welcome attendees to your space? What happens if they have to wait for what's next? What can you do to make that singular moment better? How can you adapt your demo or meeting to include more stories to bring the benefits of working with you to life? What other areas can you focus on improving the attendee experience in your space? Improving every aspect of the experience, by even 1%, will result in a significant improvement across the entire experience. If you ever get the chance to visit Blue Hill in NYC, do it—you won't regret it. -------------------- Hi, I'm Jay Designing experiences for trade shows that drive ROI for our clients. #business #branding #sales #marketing #eventprofs
