The largest challenge lies with the systems innovation in public service that’s where people, their livelihood and meaning as well as all tangible and intangible stakes and flows come together. We have seen many project and experiments working this but what about the programs of projects, the large movements of systems innovation? What can we learn from those that happen and how to upscale the smaller movements? What common hurdles do we see? Is it budget? Is it a glass cieling of change stopping managers and directors in the public sector? How can we liquify that to have the large impactful movements emerge. OCD 🤓 One of my colleagues was helping me set up the Vatic conference booth earlier this year. And asked me if maybe I was OCD? And well, I can't deny that I have a particular way an exhibit booth should be set up. 🎪 After all it may be the first impression of the brand for attendees. But the more I thought about it... The more I think my colleague was right. 👍 Because the work we do controls pricing for tickets worth tens of millions of dollars. And our clients are depending on the accuracy of that work. Tickets can't just arbitrarily do something weird. And so, yes, I am quite OCD when it comes to: 1) The accuracy of the data. 👨💻 2) The decision tree that is used to weight factors. ⚖️ 3) The logic (gained from over 15 years of real world research and development) that governs the price changes. 🧠 And maybe that's spilled over into my booth. So be it. 😄
