👉 Chromolithography. This is a colour printing process that was popular in the 19th century. It produced vibrant and detailed images. It involves the use of multiple lithographic stones or plates that represent a different colour. The process.... A detailed drawing is created. This is transferred onto a flat stone, often limestone, using an ink that repels water. Stones are prepared in different colours, the layering of the colours forms the final image. The stones are printed on to a sheet of paper which is dampened and the ink adheres to the greasy part of the stone, this requires great precision. It was popular for producing posters and decorative items as it allowed for mass production of colourful images at a fairly low cost. #thepeoplesprinter #chromolithography
