I am sure most of you are sick of hearing about the need for buildings valuations for rebuild costs.....! It has been a hot topic in the last couple of years due to the increase in building materials and labour costs. I was really pleased recently to be appointed to look after a Devon Hotels insurance program. I was concerned as the client had not had a valuation completed for about ten years. We arranged a survey for the client, this resulted in an increase to the buildings sums insured from £11,000,000 to £16,000,000. When your broker is discussing your sums insured, please make sure that you fully aware of the implications of setting the wrong figure. The last thing you want to happen, is to take out a policy at a great expense to find you are not properly covered in the event of a claim! #howden #devonbroker #buildingssumsinsured #survey #hotelinsurance

One of the major differences between the Owners Corporation (OC) and the Strata Committee (SC) is that the OC is made up of all the owners in the strata scheme 🏠 When you purchase a property in strata, you automatically become part of the OC. The SC is a group of people elected by the OC to help it make decisions for the scheme 🗳 #stratachoice #strata #stratasavvy #stratamanagement #propertymanagement

It is so good to get a review like this, and with great advice to others about making sure you are accurately insured. #underinsurance #suminsured #insuranceindustry
Here’s what else Dean had to say: “After recently completing some additions at our holiday bach, we updated and increased our house insurance levels with our insurer. We thought we were being generous with our increased sum assured, covering us if we had a total loss at the property, so we were somewhat surprised when we got our updated Construction Cost Consultants report advising us what our bach should be insured for. We were still $450,000 light with our estimate on the level of cover we should have been at. We were horrified at the shortfall and the impact this would have on our ability to rebuild if we had a total loss. Needless to say, we updated our insurance again immediately and the extra cost to do this was negligible. Definitely well worth getting this done. Anyone who hasn’t used Construction Cost Consultants for an insurance valuation is only guessing what the rebuild cost is likely to be. From experience, those guesses are likely to be way off. Call Construction Cost Consultants and get things right.” Thanks to Dean for the kind words! #ConstructionCostConsultants #SumInsured #PropertyValuation #BuildingExcellence #CustomerSatisfaction

An instructive and concise explanation of what we do!
I recently had a conversation with a longstanding client and they asked me "what are Premier Guarantees USP's in today's market?" This was an interesting question so I thought I'd share the answers with you all: ✅ Our insurer - We aren't "backed by an A rated insurer" we are owned by our A+ rated insurer HSB which offers builders, developers, housing associations and future homeowners stability and absolute peace of mind that we are going to be in the market for the length of their 10-12 year policy 📍Local service - I cover Scotland and North East England meaning you get a local service from your Business Development Manager and our surveyors. 🏴 We have 5 surveyors covering Scotland with over 100 years of combined experience 🏴 We have 4 surveyors covering the North East of England ☎️ Multiple contact points - Every project has multiple points of contact. You have: 1. Myself as your local BDM 2. My sales support assistant Jacci Small 3. Your site surveyor 4. The site surveyors manager 5. A designated customer service agent based in our Head office 6. Our Extranet portal ❌ We don't ask for insurance backed guarantees because we are able to underwrite all of our business in house. 🏦 Insolvency cover - It's a sad fact but we have seen developers fall into hardship which can be mitigated by our insolvency cover (subject to criteria). 📓 Technical manual - Our technical manual is industry renowned and industry leading. We update our manual annually and stay up to date with building trends. 💡 M&E (MIDI) cover - We include M&E cover as standard with every project. If you want to work with a leading warranty provider and discover further benefits for your clients in Scotland and the North East of England please feel free to contact me directly or request a callback on our website. #Premier #Guarantee #onyoursite #byyourside #local #service Kristina Haggarty William Findlay MCIOB Gordon Malcolm MCIOB Jonathon Trolio Steve Cole BSc Hons, ICIOB, ACABE Danny Keyes, MCABE
