If our decisions were driven 100% by logic, I think we would all pre-plan our funerals. But a discussion that includes, “When I die …” is something many of us would rather put off. So let's start the conversation with the first question: What is pre-planning? In short, funeral pre-planning is meeting with a funeral director to make decisions about your arrangements and their financing, rather than putting that responsibility upon your loved ones. Our licensed and certified pre-arrangement counselors can guide you through the process, leaving you with peace of mind. #FuneralPrePlanning https://lnkd.in/e2mFeCf

This is a rather sensitive post but written with gentle intention. I have become very aware since relocating from the Middle East, where my journey as a funeral celebrant began, of how people here in the UK aren't generally really aware of how much involvement they can have in the delivery of their loved ones funeral service. No one is a template, no story is a template, no service of mine is a template. By choosing a Celebrant that connects with you as a family, you will be assured of a much more 'appropriate' farewell. There are a lot of posts out there about 'how to have a good funeral', how to 'celebrate a life', how to 'say goodbye with laughter' and I have delivered many, many beautiful funerals in this way and truly have found my vocation. Today however, I would like to focus on the words how to 'have an appropriate funeral' because...........not every person that dies has a family or anyone that knows them anymore. Not every family can laugh or celebrate or feel like the deceased deserves that kind of celebratory vocabulary. Not everyone is loved by those they have left behind. Perhaps for those that choose a direct cremation but still feel like a memorial / gathering would be appropriate, you can contact your local Celebrant directly as the Funeral Directors are not required at this stage. In fact, you are welcome to contact your Celebrant directly for any funeral service and they will work alongside your chosen Funeral Director to ensure the service at the crematorium, chapel or venue of choice is delivered just as you wish. By making yourself aware of the Celebrants local to you, researching their experience and their vibe, maybe grab a coffee with them for a general chat, or go to their events - then, if and and when the time comes for you to need them, you will know how to get hold of them directly and make your choice based on knowledge, feeling and trust. Freedom to choose always. Take a second to think about everything you do in the course of a week…So many of us in life are busy all the time…busting our humps at work, rushing back for family activities while trying to make time for our own hobbies. Ask yourself “why?” Often the “who we are” gets lost in the “what we do.” What legacy do you want to leave behind when it is all said and done? This guide is a great resource so that your memorial, whatever and whenever that may be, celebrates who you are!

I can’t endorse any one particular funeral director or funeral service provider. I work with some of the most caring service professionals in Sydney and the Central Coast. But by looking at Scott’s attached post, you will see all the items that can be the content of every funeral ceremony. You will need a funeral director at least a minimum of once in your life. If not twice. Take a look at Scott’s comprehensive list in his post. You will consider all the things he lists as part of an every day funeral ceremony. Knowledge is the key to a start to any project or task you will need to tackle at some point in time across the journey of a lifetime. Don’t wait until you arrive at the “cliff face” of a funeral. Know the answers to the questions before that time.

What a great turnout National Funeral Directors Association 2024 was! This year as sponsors, our CEO Jessica also held a brief talk on “Crafting Remarkable Remembrance in the Digital Age.” For the lovely faces we saw this year, thank you for dropping by our photo booth and creating wonderful memories with us. Check out https://lnkd.in/et2Ukn-i for the the fun photos! Always an enlightening experience at the NFDA, once again we saw the resounding challenges in the shifting market place. This includes: 🔴 Funeral service providers now need to find new ways of engagement and monetization, all the while staying unique and cost efficient. 🔴 People are not willing to spend high costs on traditional funerals and would rather find their own solutions, such as going directly to cremation. 🔴 Because of generational change, people are changing their views on how to cope with death worldwide. Now is all the more important to provide remarkable remembrances. Personalization, emotional engagement, innovative formats, community involvement, and lasting impact form the pillars of a remarkable remembrance. We must try to recall, and to remember beyond mere respect or obligation. With fading memories in mind, it is necessary to inspire deep, collective remembrances worthy of remark. This represents one of Revere’s core mission. Let Revere be your partner in providing solutions to these changes. Our digital remembrance platform personalize memorial experiences, strengthen customer relationships, and differentiate your offerings — all while being cost-effective. At Revere, we offer a holistic solution—software, hardware and consultation—that empowers our clients to stay ahead and build lasting connections with their customers. From fostering a deeper engagement with customers to streamlining operational workflow, we are revolutionizing the industry: https://lnkd.in/e5hTsniN 🌱 We hope to see you again soon in 2025!

To celebrate National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day, #OGR caught up with members to chat about why they are so passionate for #FuneralService. Today, we talked to Geri Oliverie from Oliverie Funeral Home in Manchester, New Jersey: What made you become a funeral director? The social aspect, the gathering is so important to me. We all weave a thread in others’ life quilts. It’s nice to see the completed quilt and pay your respects to a life well lived. What is your greatest reward for being a funeral director? Growing as a compassionate person and helping others. Being a part of something larger and more important than me. Giving my family an example to help others.
