“𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲,” said my coaching client.  “𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞?” I asked.  “𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐨𝐨𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫. 𝐒𝐨, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬!” And then it struck me, people go to a coach, not just to learn, but to:  ▪️SAVE TIME ▪️PREVENT BURNOUT ▪️PREVENT HEARTACHE ▪️AVOID GIVING UP ▪️BEING AHEAD OF THE GAME In this particular case, my client wanted to start a podcast. She was clueless about the niche she wanted to focus on.  Here is how I helped her. ▪️𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 1: 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘 I asked her around 8 difficult questions. Through those, she got clarity on her niche (Entrepreneurship for Young Mothers), the tone, the type of guests and the narrative of the podcast. ▪️𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 2: 𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐒 I helped her understand the 3 hats she would have to wear, to ace this new project. She was the time keeper, the narrator and the link between the audience and the guest. For each role, I suggested very practical strategies and hacks. ▪️𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 3: 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐄𝐒 This was about communication, rapport, comfort and leveraging social media. Here we discussed all those communication strategies that help you shine on camera, be it content structure, body language, creating rapport or using the power of your voice. After 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 3 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒 of sessions, my client felt a year ahead in what she plans to achieve. As her coach, I am proud. It’s FriYAY! As I reflect on the week, I’m feeling so grateful for the variety in the work I get to do. This week’s highlights included: ✨ Individual coaching sessions and meeting new clients ✨ Facilitating an online workshop on growth mindset with a fabulous team ✨ Diving deeper into the Hogan assessment methodology to prepare for a client debrief ✨ Recording a podcast episode with Marina Parris about her inspiring leadership journey—and how horses became her teachers On top of that, I still found time for walking in nature, volunteering, and spending time with my family. This mix of people stuff, thinking stuff, and doing stuff is just right for me—a balance of deep work and light moments, living in the present while also taking time to plan ahead. I’d be lying if I said that life as an independent coach is always easy. It’s not. But when you create a portfolio of work that aligns with your strengths, values, and personality, you discover so much more energy and joy in what you do. How has your week shaped up?
