Integrating Nature into National Adaptation Plans: A Path to Resilient Futures 🌍 In my ongoing journey to understand effective climate solutions, I've been delving deeper into the vital role of integrating nature-based approaches in National Adaptation Plans (NAPs). A key takeaway from this course has been the immense value of implementing cost-effective and complementary solutions that not only address climate challenges but also enhance the resilience of communities and ecosystems.   It not only sheds light on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) but also provides an engaging and interactive landscape to explore these concepts in depth. People cannot find solutions to the climate crisis if they never knew there was any crisis because awareness is the first step in recognizing the problem and understanding its urgency. Without knowledge of the climate crisis, individuals, communities, and governments cannot take meaningful action, support necessary policies, or innovate effective solutions. Education and information about climate change are important for encouraging public engagement, inspiring collective action, and driving the development of sustainable practices and technologies. Canada focused on a collaborative approach in creating the “Climate Science 2050: National Priorities for Climate Change Science and Knowledge” report, supporting #ClimateAction and released today. Over 500 #ClimateChange experts, including governments, industry sectors, and academia from multiple domains were involved in the report development. It defines over 70 priority #science and knowledge activities needed to move towards a healthy, safe, resilient, and prosperous carbon-neutral Canada by 2050.
