𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐢 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞! We’re thrilled to share the Draghi Report, which offers a clear roadmap for boosting growth and closing the innovation gap across the EU. Key Recommendation: Foster a stronger financing environment for disruptive innovation, startups, and scale-ups by breaking down growth barriers in European markets. To achieve this, the report highlights the need for: - A deeper pool of angel investors to back early-stage innovation - Local capital availability for scaling up, ensuring Europe retains its homegrown innovations - Expanded incentives for business angels, revised capital requirements, and increased funding through the European Investment Fund These steps aim to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness, support high-growth companies, and build a thriving ecosystem for innovation and investment. What barriers are there to implementing those policies? How can we prevent some of the best European startups and researchers from leaving the EU? What are the steps to create a single, unified European market where small businesses can grow and thrive? Those are some of the questions being addressed right now in Brussels. Excited to share my perspective as an entrepreneur tomorrow during the “Research Careers” session 💡 Follow online here: https://lnkd.in/dCXSntR5 #EuropeanCommission #HorizonEurope #startupjourney #biotechfounder #RiDaysEU

It’s fantastic to see high profile influencers championing the cause for inclusive capital. 85pct of the worlds population sit in developing economies. As more and more governments follow India’s path of digitalising their economies we should see widening financial inclusion paving the way for sustainable higher growth. There is a seriously compelling case for structural capital allocation into emerging markets from both a returns and impact perspective.
Our founder and CEO, Hendrik du Toit, had the honour this past weekend of an audience with the Pope at the Vatican as part of a Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) delegation. The Pope shared a message that could be summarised in two concepts: the need for inclusive capitalism and a more sustainable world. No one should be left behind. An engaging conversation between Vatican officials, leading companies, academics, solution-oriented startups, and SMI leadership reflected much of common interest and cause.
