How can an Investor Day leave a mark? ✨ 🦄 Lemonade's recent Investor Day was unique It captured the essence of the company - sharing their ambitious vision with conviction, showcasing their impressive execution, and delivering an experience that mirrors their product, brand and culture.  It’s something you don’t often see in the IR scene. A few interesting takeaways 🧵 💪 Every presentation had an “audacious claim” A bold statement about the business. This wasn’t a rehash of the same message; each speaker presented a thesis, a pov, data and proof points to support the bold claims, a promise for the future, and a plan to deliver. Five speakers, five claims, five big ideas to shape the company’s future. Not something you see every (investor) day. I highly recommend watching the presentations to feel the impact https://lnkd.in/exNkYQBS 🏎️ Looking under the hood Some companies do demos and share videos on investor days, but Lemonade went much deeper. They opened their systems, showing how AI powers their entire business in real-time. From AI-driven claims, to running their internal operations with bots, complex theories became practical, showcasing examples that even Wall St. analysts could connect with. And proving that for Lemonade, AI is not just a technology they’re tapping into, but a modus operandi they live by. 🔮 IR experience matches the Brand experience Investor Days often feel disconnected from a company’s identity—generic settings, stiff presentations, and a formal vibe. Lemonade flipped the script. From hosting in their Soho office to branded handouts, and inspiring, creative speakers, the event embodied their personality. The Q&A session was a “let’s have lunch together” session - which was more human, intimate and a far cry from the usual press-conference routine. 🐘 Addressing the elephants in the room As a challenger, Lemonade has faced its share of skepticism by industry analysts. This time, they tackled every “question mark” head-on, addressing long-standing concerns with confidence. It wasn’t about flashy tech to distract from weak fundamentals—it was proof that their financials match (and sometimes surpass) their innovative tech and product experience. They faced the elephants—and the dragons—without fear, and it showed. Finally, it’s not everyday you get a chance to experience something different in the IR scene. Many companies stop short of applying the same energy and creativity to one of their most important and crucial audiences - the capital market community. While this community hides behind “institutions”, big-name firms and anonymous ‘analyst’ and ‘investor’ titles, they are still human, and they will always appreciate a good experience and engaging story. ✨STANDBY = readiness for duty or immediate deployment Earlier this month, I attended Invest Fest, an incredible conference for Black entrepreneurs and dreamers. I flew Standby to get there, and while the journey went smoothly, my return was delayed by an entire day! I was bumped to a different flight that ultimately ended up being canceled. I had to get additional accommodations for the night AND be back to the airport by 4am! It was a lesson in patience and trust—reminding me that sometimes our timing and divine timing don’t align, but that doesn’t mean we’re off track. The delay gave me unexpected time to slow down and reflect. It reinforced that every detour has a purpose, and we’re always right where we’re supposed to be. If you’re reading this, take it as a sign. You have been on STANDBY long enough—a seat just opened with your name on it! In the last 10 years of my career as a financial consultant I have been fortunate enough to get recognized for the work I have been doing. Each recognition reminds me why I started this journey. But here’s the thing. What Awards Don’t Show You- The plaques on my wall don’t tell the full story. They don't reflect the countless discussions and planning that took place day and night. They don’t capture the joy of a family’s first home. They don’t reflect the trust people place in me. Awards recognize outcomes, but not the process. And for me, the process is where the magic happens. Here’s what keeps me going: ↳ Hearing a client say, “Thank you for taking care of our Portfolio.” ↳ Watching families achieve goals they thought were impossible. ↳ Knowing my work has made someone’s life better. Those moments mean more to me than any trophy ever could Don’t get me wrong—awards are a great honor. They push me to keep raising the bar. But at the end of the day, success is about: ↳ People, not prizes. ↳ Impact, not accolades. ↳ The journey, not just the destination. And that’s what I’ll always strive for. What About You?
