On this World Patient Safety Day 2024, the World Health Organization emphasises the importance of accurate and timely diagnosis as a key driver for improving patient health and safety.
👉 Diagnostics serve as a navigation system for the care team to provide patients with the right care at the right time.
👉 The diagnostic process consists of several steps, each requiring great care and precision.
👉 Medical technology is a crucial aid for the care team throughout the entire cycle, including in-vitro diagnostic tests, medical imaging, and more.
👉 Making the right diagnosis is a team effort—among healthcare providers, between the healthcare team and the patient, and also between healthcare providers, policymakers, and industry to ensure timely access to valuable diagnostic tools.
We’d like to take this opportunity to once again highlight this interview with Julie HOTTON on in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs). As Head of Clinical Biology at Europa Ziekenhuizen, she clearly describes both the value and complexity of IVDs for patients, healthcare providers, and society.
