“Isse Sasta Aur Accha Kahin Nahi…” A lot of companies use different versions of this tagline. But almost all these companies shy away from saying… “Pehle Istemaal Karein, Phir Vishwas Karein.” Ghari claims it, but it’s just a soap bar. I believe cheap and best quality don’t go hand in hand. Especially today when inflation is so high. However, the worst is… Many healthcare platforms, online aggregators, newspaper advertisements, or quacks… Use some version of “Isse Sasta Aur Accha Kahin Nahi…” Is it really? We are talking about health and life and not fast-moving consumer goods. But these manipulators know that cheap sells. It’s a hook. And a lot of patients fall prey to this shrewd marketing tactic. Beware of what they say. It’s a big trap. We need to understand if we pay peanuts, we attract monkeys. Anything cheap is likely to have compromises in the quality. Maybe they employ underqualified or inexperienced team, maybe they rush the process leading to misdiagnosis or improper treatment, maybe they use outdated or subpar equipment, maybe they are skimping on hygiene… If we are getting you the cheapest treatment, are we getting the cheapest things? Please understand they are not running a charity, so they will not pay from their pocket to offer you the best treatment. The fact is… quality healthcare requires time, expertise, and a high standard of care and equipment, which comes at a cost. This doesn’t mean I’m asking you to look for the most expensive or exorbitant costs. But I mean is… stop falling prey to the marketing gimmick of the quacks. It is about our health, our life, our family member’s life.

All the healthcare marcoms we do is worthless if patients can't access care or have terrible experiences when they do. Accessibility means something different to every patient, but at its core it means meeting patients where they are. 👉 For the Haitian community in South Florida, Dr Judite Blanc, Ph.D taught me it means showing empathy at the front desk instead of first asking for an insurance card from someone feeling vulnerable. (link to University of Miami Health System article in the comments) 👉 For me, it's about accommodating my schedule as a full-time working mom. 👉 From Rob Klein, MA Advertising, I learned accessibility means meeting GenZ and Millennials on the digital highway so that every part of care can be done on a phone. As marketers, we can only be as good as the health systems we support. And with disrupters like Amazon, Costco and CVS poised to take their place, we've got work to do. Pictured is a graph from Klein's National Consumer Insights Study of how long patients had to wait for an appointment compared to how long they find acceptable. #healthcaremarketing

In the senior living industry, think less about “doing marketing,” and more about being effective. It’s very rare that a pre-packaged system will work in your unique market. Sure, you’ll have some small successes because you’ve started doing something, but you won’t actually solve your deep issues. When you focus on the campaign elements that are most effective, you’ll get the very best reward of all - results you can be proud of. #marketing #healthcare #seniorcare #seniorliving

I've have been a little behind on my blogging lately due to dealing with some health issues for my husband. Don't worry - he is on the mend and it gave me a great experience as a "secret shopper." My top two takeaways are: - Patient communication needs streamlining and improvements, but internal marketing teams are not resourced to support this need. - Improving the patient experience in a branded way is crucial, but how can we do this without resorting to putting logos on every surface? Bonus takeaway: I have lots of ideas and recommendations to help solve both of these issues. Check out my latest blog post for the full story and to join the conversation. I'd love to hear your thoughts! #branding #patientexperience #healthcaremarketing

The real issue isn't the one patients come to you for, it's the one you're afraid to treat. When I ask healthcare providers about marketing their practice, responses usually involve reactions of distaste or uncertainty. "Marketing feels so salesy and inauthentic." "I take care of patients, not business." "There's already so much incorrect and misleading health info out there, I don't want to add to the noise." I get it. Your priority is providing care and solutions, not peddling products or services. The idea of "marketing" can feel at odds with your noble mission. But here's the hard truth - if you aren't taking an active role in marketing your expertise, you are doing a disservice to those who need you most. Your unique knowledge and skills have the power to change lives if only you share them with the right people. Empathetic marketing helps volunteers find you, not victims. It's not about manipulation or trickery. It's about making the connection between your offer and those it can genuinely help. To serve your market, you must first see them, hear them, understand them. Ask yourself: - What keeps your ideal patients awake at night, worried about their health? - What dreams or goals is their condition preventing them from achieving? - What misinformation or fears are they grappling with? The answers form the stories you need to tell - stories that resonate because they are about your listener, not about you. Stories that spread because they offer believers a path to transformation. By embracing empathetic marketing, you create opportunities for people to solve their problems with your guidance. You become the compass helping them navigate to better health and peace of mind. Not knowing the "how" of marketing is not an excuse to stay silent. Was your first patient interaction perfect? Of course not - you studied, practiced, and over time mastered the skills. Marketing is no different. You have caregiving down to an art; now learn to communicate that art's value masterfully. For each patient you add to your universe is another life, family, and community made better through your work. You didn't become a healthcare hero by playing it safe. Apply that same courage and compassion to introduce yourself as the solution. Marketing well isn't salesy - it's arguably the most caring thing you can do. The difference lies in the "how." Heavy-handed sales tactics peddle false promises and ultimately undermine the patient-provider trust. But is empathetic marketing focused on truly understanding your audience's struggles, fears, and aspirations? That builds the very thing your practice is built upon - trusting human connections.
