ADAP Advocacy, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs) and improving access to care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, has launched a patient-centric interactive digital mapping tool focused on the 340B Drug Pricing Program. The new 340B Map highlights how revenues for covered entities and executive compensation for their CEOs have significantly increased since gaining eligibility to participate in the program. Conversely, the map also reveals that uncompensated charity care is declining for hospitals receiving generous tax breaks, despite rising medical debt among patients. 'This new interactive map equips patients with yet another tool to monitor what is happening in their local communities relative to the 340B Program,' said Brandon M. Macsata, CEO of ADAP Advocacy. 'Patients are increasingly learning that for big hospital systems and mega service providers, this program is serving as a cash cow for them and their CEOs.' The 340B Map aims to shed light on the program's impact on patient access to care by presenting data on covered entities' revenues, executive compensation, and changes in charity care percentages for hospitals. At the heart of this mess is the explosive rise in medical debt, and ADAP Advocacy is seeking patient perspectives on this issue. Take a few minutes to complete their online survey on #medicaldebt and also share it with your family, friends and colleagues.

A recent report by ADAP Advocacy, titled 'The 340B Drug Pricing Program and its Potential Impacts on Annual Revenues, Executive Compensation, and Charity Care Provision in Eligible Covered Entities,' sheds light on concerning trends in the 340B Drug Pricing Program. The study analyzed 69 covered entities, including HIV care providers, hospitals, and other types, examining their annual revenues, executive compensation, and charity care provision before and after joining the program. 'It is no wonder that hospitals and mega service providers are fighting so hard to stop reforms to the 340B Program...because it is a cash cow for their organizations' bank accounts and their CEOs' wallets. What is even more troubling is for hospitals, their charity care levels have dropped precipitously over time,' said Brandon M. Macsata, CEO of ADAP Advocacy. The report found that after joining the 340B program, covered entities experienced an average revenue increase of 824.32%, while executive compensation soared by 231.51%. This raises concerns about the program's priorities, as it deviates from its original intent of assisting patients. ADAP Advocacy aims to promote and enhance access to care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS through advocacy, educational programs, and community collaboration. The organization's findings highlight the need for reforms to realign the 340B program with its legislative purpose. #340BProgram #ExecutiveCompensation #CharityCare #AIDSDrugAssistance ADAP Advocacy
