You ask me what made me dive into FASHION as a Designer? Some went into Fashion as Models while for some they just want to create, make, sketch/draw or sew. But for me it was none of the above,I've always had passion for fashion. From my funny combination of colors to mixing of different fabrics to make a dress (my siblings would laugh at me),made me realize my passion. The world of Fashion is drawn from a lot of things. The fashion design process begins with inspiration and research. Designers often draw from a variety of sources such as art, history, culture, and current trends. This stage involves extensive research to gather relevant information and develop a clear vision. Designers might study fashion history, explore emerging trends, or delve into specific themes that spark their creativity.Mood boards are commonly used in this phase to visually organize inspiration. These boards can include fabric swatches, color palettes, images, and sketches. The goal is to establish a cohesive direction for the collection, ensuring that all elements align with the designer’s vision. #fashiondesign #localtoglobal #culture #womeninfashion

One of the most interesting parts for me is adding the details of the silhouette and stitch lines to complete the look. It’s like bringing the garment to life, one line at a time. And yess, filling in the color gives that final touch of satisfaction – it’s when the design truly comes together. It's these small, intricate steps that make the design process so fulfilling and exciting. Each detail adds a layer of personality and precision to the final piece, ensuring everything is just right before moving on to the next stage. Which part of your creative process do you find most satisfying? --------- Hi I'm Ft Thasneem. As a fashion design student, creativity flows best when we allow ourselves to pause. ✨ In the rush to create the perfect garment, it's easy to forget that rest is part of the process. A calm mind leads to inspired designs and fresh ideas. 🌿 Sometimes, taking a step back and relaxing is the most productive thing we can do—whether it's sketching new ideas, selecting fabrics, or working through complex designs. Remember, every masterpiece begins with balance. #FashionDesign #CreativeProcess #RestAndReset #DesignInspiration

🌟 The Life of a Fashion Designer: More Than Just Sketches and Style! 🌟 Ever wondered what a fashion designer actually does? It’s a career full of creativity, technical skills, and business insight! Here’s a peek into a day in the life of a fashion designer: ✨ Conceptualizing – Every collection starts with a vision, inspired by culture, trends, and a deep understanding of the customer. Designers draw from everything around them to bring fresh, innovative ideas to life. 🖌️ Designing & Sketching – It’s not all digital! Many designers still sketch by hand, creating the first visual representation of their ideas before refining them on digital platforms. ✂️ Fabric Selection & Prototyping – Choosing fabrics that bring the design to life is an art in itself. Designers collaborate closely with textile experts to ensure that each material fits the vision and performs well. 👗 Pattern Making & Sewing – From sketch to garment, each design goes through a meticulous process, which includes creating patterns, draping, and initial sewing. Precision is key to transforming a two-dimensional concept into a three-dimensional piece. 📈 Market Research & Trend Forecasting – Designers don’t just create; they study trends, competitors, and customer preferences to ensure their creations resonate with the right audience at the right time. 🤝 Collaborating with Teams – Fashion design is collaborative! Designers work alongside merchandisers, marketing teams, and production teams to ensure the final product is on-brand, on-time, and meets quality standards. 👠 Runway and Retail Launch – The culmination of months of work leads to this moment: showing the collection to the world. Whether on a runway or a store shelf, this is where the designer’s vision comes to life! Fashion design is a blend of art, strategy, and a love for creating something unique. To all the designers out there, thank you for making the world a more vibrant, beautiful place! 👏✨ #FashionDesign #DesignerLife #CreativityInAction #FashionIndustry #BehindTheScenes

✨ Behind Every Great Design Is a Well-Thought-Out Process ✨ When it comes to creating stunning fashion pieces, the magic doesn’t just happen at the ideas stage—it’s the meticulous development process that brings the design to life. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with brands like Neka Clothing, diving into the details that turn concepts into wearable art. Here are some insights from the journey: 1️⃣ Pattern Drafting: Bringing Ideas to Life Turning an idea into a workable pattern requires a deep understanding of structure and fabric behavior. Working on more complex styles, like asymmetrical cuts, and tailored or draped garments, challenges you to balance creativity with technical precision. I still remember the thrill (and a little frustration!) of nailing the perfect curve for a dress design that once felt impossible. 2️⃣ Grading: Ensuring Every Detail Fits Grading isn’t just about scaling sizes; it’s about maintaining the integrity of the original design across the size range. Complicated styles—think intricate pleats or unique seam placements—test your ability to think ahead, making sure proportions and design elements remain cohesive. One memorable project involved adapting a tailored trench coat across sizes without compromising its sleek, structured silhouette. A challenge, but the results? Worth every late-night adjustment. 3️⃣ Tech Packs: The Blueprint for Tailors A detailed tech pack is the cornerstone of successful collaboration with your tailor. It’s where every measurement, stitch type, and material detail is mapped out. It ensures your vision is executed flawlessly while saving time and reducing back-and-forths. What I’ve learned is that fashion design is as much about problem-solving as it is about creativity. These behind-the-scenes processes are where the magic truly begins. 💡 Your Turn: Designers, what’s been your most rewarding (or challenging!) experience in product development? Let’s share insights and celebrate the art of turning ideas and sketches into reality! #FashionDesign #ProductDevelopment #PatternDrafting #Grading #TechPack #FashionJourney
