Question: What are the advantages of DED? Answer: DED or Direct energy deposition is an additive manufacturing process where thermal energy is used to fuse material by melting as they are being deposited. The advantages of DED are: - Multi-Channel Printing: DED can work with a variety of materials, including titanium, aluminium, and steel. - Component Repair: DED is highly effective for repairing damaged or worn out parts, extending the life of expensive components and reducing waste. - Material Efficiency: DED typically generates less waste compared to subtractive manufacturing methods, as material is only added where needed. - Reduction in Lead Time: Components can be manufactured and repaired quickly, which is especially valuable in industries requiring rapid turnaround times. To find out more about how we at WAAM3D utilise DED and the advantages we can directly provide, read more at: https://hubs.li/Q02QTWTn0 #Blog #DED #WireArc #Additive #Innovation #Sustainability #Advantages #Global #Technology #Leader #Direct #Energy #Deposition #Advantages #Benefits

A packaging manufacturer employing gravure printing aimed to enhance efficiency and reduce waste amidst market competition. Key to this was understanding and optimising the complex printing processes, particularly during frequent roll changes occurring at high speed. By implementing the #iba system for real-time monitoring and data acquisition, they achieved significant improvements. Optimisations in reel winding hydraulics stabilised paper web tension, reducing waste from 40 to 5 metres per roll change. This initiative underscored the benefits of precise process control in minimising production inefficiencies and enhancing overall operational performance. Hi all good morning… Our HD Anilox sleeve is my favorite Apex product to supply… the typical issues of why a sleeve dies prematurely are: delamination, end caps coming off (competitor sleeve end caps are typically press fit and/or glued in, some don’t have them at all) and TIR issues… are you tired of getting hard phone calls from your Anilox supplier stating that your sleeve not salvageable and you need a new one ? Although our HD Anilox sleeves are not indestructible, compared to everything else out there, there is no question that this is a better “nut”: The inner sleeve is made of a Kevlar type composite, much more durable than the average composite material we see out there: it is not wound, and it is sealed, which will have a very positive impact on resisting delamination, fraying, swelling, and easier to clean and longer lasting… It is sealed with a sealant, and can actually be submerged, which we would not recommend, but we know can happen, especially if you are using a liquid cleaner. The end caps are made of stainless steel and are screwed and notched in, holding the whole sleeve together, not only to create support on the edges where you need it to help prevent TIR issues( from too much “wiggling” while trying to load on and off) but are also guaranteed never to come out. They will never corrode, and are very robustly built. Finally, the design is built to run up to 2000+ feet per minute with no bounce, and is lighter than a typical sleeve, which is great, especially for the larger machines on the upper decks, to help operators install and uninstall easier, it’s more ergonomic. The final selling point is the simple fact that Apex makes these ourselves, we are the only Anilox Co that designs and builds them ourselves, they are designed for Anilox, with the typical issues discussed above in mind. This will result in the possibility of many more reworks and longevity and performance of your Anilox sleeve. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out, we would love the opportunity to support you. Thank you for reading and your time, have a great day! Warm regards, Aaron
