"Last year, I joined the Talent Acquisition team because I had a genuine passion for recruiting qualified talents for our organization. However, when I learned that our KPI (Key Performance Indicator) was to close 2 positions per month, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and pressure. My first thought: “Wow, what an ambitious KPI but how could I fulfill it?” I'm feeling a mix of butterflies in my stomach and being a bit triggered at the same time." 🌟 Talent Tip Tuesdays: Insights from Industry Leaders 🌟 Continuing our popular Talent Tips series, we kick off this mini-series with a powerful quote from Jack Ma, Co-founder of Alibaba Group: 💡 "You need the right people with you, not the best people." At Captar, we believe that the people within your organisation are its lifeblood. Jack Ma’s insight highlights the importance of cultural fit over simply hiring the most qualified candidates. In his view, having the "right people" means ensuring that employees align with your company’s values, mission, and collaborative spirit. It’s not just about credentials – it’s about finding individuals who share your vision, work well within your team, and contribute to a positive, supportive culture. Cultural fit goes beyond just getting along; it’s about building a cohesive team where diverse skills and perspectives come together to drive innovation and success. Hiring for cultural alignment can result in a more engaged, loyal workforce that works together towards common goals. At Captar, we help our clients by offering the best advice, ensuring a perfect fit for both the role and the organisational culture. Our Talent Tip Tuesdays are just one way we provide valuable insights to help you grow your team effectively. #TalentTips #CulturalFit #BuildOurIndustryBetter #TalentAcquisition #TeamBuilding #CompanyCulture

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙙𝙤... Since launching my business five months ago I've been developing my business model for talent management consultancy, and today I'm sharing the steps to our approach at Chrysalis Talent Development Ltd. Using our in-house developed 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 we assess your talent management strategy and processes against a number of talent topics, such as recruitment, learning and development, and talent development. We'll then share the results of our assessment and proposal for improvements to achieve the level of maturity that suits your business. The next step is to start the action. Whether you want to complete one activity, or implement a series of them over a period of time, we'll deliver what your business needs, in full partnership with you at the helm. Finally, it's important that we review, so six months after implementation we'll check back in with you to see how things have been going, and where any adjustments might need to be made. I love this approach, and truly believe it's a great way to serve small to mid-sized businesses who likely don't need dedicated talent management professionals, but do need the expertise to get them started. If you'd like to hear more about our approach, or have a no-obligation call with me to discuss your needs drop me a DM with the word 'talent' and let's chat. #talentmanagement #talentstrategy #consultancy

🌟 Avoiding Hiring Mishaps: The Power of Defining KRAs Early 🚀 Many startup founders face the challenge of hiring the right talent, only to encounter difficulties once the person is onboarded and deemed a "bad hire". While cultural fit and chemistry are crucial, one of the biggest pitfalls lies in expectation management. Often, founders haven't thoroughly considered the Key Result Areas (KRAs) of the role, leading to misunderstandings and mismatched expectations. Why Knowing KRAs Before Hiring is Paramount? 🎯 In the fast-paced world of talent acquisition, understanding KRAs before extending an offer isn't just important—it's essential. Here's why: 1. 👌🏽Clarity Breeds Success: Clearly defined KRAs provide a roadmap for both founder and employees, setting the stage for success from day one by outlining specific goals, objectives, and expectations. 2. 🤝Alignment of Expectations: When candidates grasp their KRAs, alignment between organizational goals and individual aspirations occurs, fostering purpose and direction, thereby enhancing motivation and engagement. 3. 💪🏼Performance Management: KRAs serve as benchmarks for evaluating performance and progress. With predefined metrics and milestones, employers can objectively assess contributions and identify areas for development. 4. 👆🏼Resource Optimization: By delineating KRAs, organizations optimize resource allocation and streamline workflow. Employees know precisely where to focus their efforts, maximizing productivity and efficiency. 5. 🔺Continuous Improvement: KRAs foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Regular reviews and feedback sessions enable employees to track performance, address challenges, and refine their skills. In essence, knowing KRAs before hiring establishes a mutually beneficial relationship between founder and employees—one built on clarity, alignment, and accountability. #TalentAcquisition #HRBestPractices #EmployeeEngagement Sayan Ghosh🦄 Prateek Agarwal (Pre-seed investor) Rajvardhan Mohite

Embrace Change and Forge Your Own Path! In today's rapidly evolving landscape, the fusion of technology and innovation has become the cornerstone of progress. "Advancing Recruitment through Technology" stands as a testament to the transformative power of modern tools in the realm of talent acquisition, reshaping traditional methodologies and unlocking new possibilities. But what happens when you find yourself at a crossroads, feeling disconnected from the path you're currently on? Here's where the wisdom of Dolly Parton comes into play. This quote serves as a gentle reminder that we possess the agency to carve out our own destinies, to forge new trails even when the existing ones seem daunting or unfulfilling. In the world of recruitment, this mantra rings especially true. Whether you're an employer seeking the perfect fit for your team or a candidate searching for your dream role, the journey often demands resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace change. So, let's harness the power of technology not only to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies but also to empower individuals to chart their own course. Let's cultivate a culture where innovation meets aspiration, where every step forward is a conscious choice toward a brighter, more fulfilling future. Remember, the road less traveled may hold the greatest adventures, and with the right tools and mindset, we can navigate it with confidence and grace. #bti #btiexecutivesearch #executivesearch #recruitment #asia #apac #professionaldevelopment #techadvancements

The Silent Struggle of Talent Loss 💔 One of my emotional struggles in HC management is talent war. The excitement of acquiring high value talent and the innovation in retention strategies has been unparalleled. But the one or two instances where I’ve experienced the departure of high-value (3,3/3,2/2,3) talent, or where I have failed to attract, has struck a deep chord. Ngiye ngive ngatsi ushiya mine or wala mine. The exit is not only a professional setback but a personal one as well. Every exit interview feels like a chapter closing prematurely. We invest so much in nurturing and developing talent, creating plans for growth and success. When a valued team member leaves, it’s a jolt that echoes far beyond an empty chair. So for me, the emotional pain is multifaceted. There’s the personal disappointment of seeing someone you’ve believed in move on. There's the realisation that the organisation must regroup and rebuild. The drain comes from grappling with questions of what more could I have done, the impact on overall team morale, and the need to quickly find effective solutions. I believe it’s in these challenges where I’ve found the most growth as a leader. These moments test my resilience and commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture. The constant focus being on creating a workplace where talent not only thrives but chooses to stay. #TalentRetention #EmployeeEngagement #DayInMyWorkLife
