Paella! Have you had the pleasure of an authentic version of this traditional Spanish dish? Originating from the Valencia region, paella holds a special place in the hearts of Spaniards. While paella is strongly linked to Valencia, it is widely appreciated throughout Spain, albeit with regional variations and debates about authenticity. This dish represents much about Spanish and Valencian culture:
· Pride and Tradition: Valencians take immense pride in their paella. It’s not just a meal; it’s a cultural symbol. The dish reflects the region’s history, agriculture, and culinary heritage.
· Local Ingredients: Valencians emphasize the use of fresh, local ingredients. Authentic paella typically includes rice, saffron, olive oil, rabbit or chicken, and a medley of vegetables like green beans and artichokes. Seafood paella, with ingredients like shrimp, mussels, and squid, is also popular along the coast.
· Social Bonding: Paella is often prepared and enjoyed during gatherings with family and friends. It’s a communal experience, where people come together to cook, share stories, and savor the flavors.
· Variations and Debates: There are passionate debates about the “right” way to make paella. Some argue for the traditional Valencian recipe, while others embrace regional variations.
· Festival of Paella: The annual Fallas festival in Valencia celebrates paella with gusto. During this event, massive paella pans are set up in the streets, and locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy this iconic dish.
· Tourism Impact: While paella is beloved, its popularity has led to some tourist-oriented versions that may not align with the authentic Valencian preparation. Locals sometimes lament the commercialization of their cherished dish.
Paella is more than just a plate of rice, meats or seafood, vegetables, and spices —it’s a cultural touchstone that reflects Valencian identity, history, and community spirit.

1moI accidentally canceled my booking via your app and the hotel refuse to reinstate it. I called the hotel immediately after the cancellation. The rooms are still available and the price is not change, I paid the full amount already. Why can not reinstate my booking? I booked this hotel to celebrate Christmas with my family. I know you have the right to do so cause it’s a non refund rate and it is written in your sales condition. But where is the humanity in your corporate culture? Is the refusal to accommodate my request an intentional way of profiting from guests' misoperation? Do I have to lose €350 because I pressed the wrong button? You took our money but don’t provide any products or services! That is rubber, rubber from your loyal members👍 You advertise in the media about being hospitable, putting your members satisfaction first, and how joining your membership program is like being part of a warm family. Yet, in reality, you show no consideration for your members and seem only focused on profiting from them. In this situation, I have felt no kindness or humanity, only cold indifference and greed!
