URGENT HELP NEEDED: FLOOD RELIEF FOR BICOL REGION We wish to inform you about the dire situation in the Bicol Region following the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami). According to the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5), three people have been reported dead, one person is missing, and six others have been injured as of 6:00 a.m. One of our members shared an update from Legazpi City: This severe flooding is the worst seen in years. In some areas, water levels have reached rooftops, causing casualties and widespread power outages. Unfortunately, rescue operations have come to a halt, with some rescuers now stranded. Many residents remain in evacuation centers and are in urgent need of support. In light of this crisis, we humbly appeal for your help. FLOODING IN EAST AFRICA - JOIN US - ACTION NEEDED NOW We are devasted by the floods that have hit East Africa and the pain inflicted upon our loved ones in our home country of Kenya. Severe flooding in northeastern Nigeria Heavy rainfall and the breach of the Alau Dam have caused large parts of Maiduguri to flood. Major access routes are submerged, making it difficult for vehicles to pass. Around 280,000 people and 40% of the urban area are affected by this sudden flood. With a population of around 2 million, Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, is facing a significant crisis. As a first response, we are distributing 800 cholera prevention kits and 1,000 hygiene kits to the Bakasi IDP camp.
