This week I am in Amsterdam, attending and speaking at Reuters Events Sustainable Road Transport Europe 2024. I had great fun today leading a workshop exploring the future of road transport in a multi-modal world, including discussions around DP World’s steps towards the future of global trade. The contributions from the attendees was excellent and we talked about some very cool and ambitious steps. More exciting news to follow!   Thanks to our ambitious investments, acquisitions and innovation we’ve come a long way, from our first ports in Dubai in the 70s, to 430 businesses in over 70 countries today. Our end-to-end services connect more supply chain options, giving customers flexibility and choice for moving goods sustainably.   But if we are to make a real difference in driving sustainable trade and transportation of goods, events like Sustainable Road Transport Europe are crucial in enabling us to work together and collaborate on innovative solutions. 🌿 Greener Logistics: Shifting Freight Transport to Rail The transportation sector is a significant contributor to Europe's greenhouse gas emissions, with heavy road transport being a major culprit. At LTG Cargo, we are committed to driving sustainable practices within the logistics industry. In collaboration with Žinių radijas, we recently had a series of discussions on sustainability in logistics and why it matters. This conversation explored questions like:  - Why is logistics important to me personally?  - What does the word intermodality mean, and what changes are happening in logistics?  - How much CO2 can be saved by using combined freight transport?  - What are the other advantages of intermodal transportation for businesses, society, and individuals? China’s Hydrogen-Powered Train Redefines Green Travel at InnoTrans 2024 China has once again raised the bar in the high-speed rail industry with the debut of its hydrogen-powered train, the CINOVA H2, at InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin.
