What will the additional $5.7 million in funding help us achieve? We’re making 24/7 renewables a reality and the investment from this latest raise will support MGA Thermal’s next phase of testing to reinstate and prove the scale of its TES system and produce sufficient high-pressure, high-temperature clean steam for rising industrial demand. The market need for industrial decarbonisation solutions and long-term energy storage solutions for solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources remains evident and significant. MGA Thermal’s technology is a crucial piece of that puzzle. “We have continued working with numerous industrial partners and clients over the last six months which cannot solely rely on solar, wind and renewable energy sources to meet their decarbonisation goals,” said MGA’s CEO Mark Croudace. “We’re excited to realise the next phase of our partnerships through the implementation of an on-site MGA Thermal TES system to supply ongoing clean-steam and energy storage capabilities.” #funding #scaleup #energystorage #industrialheat #cleansteam

Queensland government-owned service provider, Powerlink operates the state’s primary electricity network, managing 1700 km of high-voltage transmission lines and substations to serve five million Queenslanders and 238,000 businesses. The cornerstone of the QLD government’s $62 billion plans is SuperGrid, which aims to deliver 50% renewable energy by 2030, 70% by 2032, and 80% by 2035. These ambitious goals illustrate why Queensland's status as a leading region for renewable energy zones, encouraging investment in solar, wind, battery, and hydrogen projects. It’s encouraging to see significant investment into renewable energy, the digitalisation of state-owned services, and more talent to support Powerlink’s growth. Do you think SuperGrid can achieve 70% renewable energy by 2032? #renewableenergy #sustainability #renewables

As countries worldwide push for renewable energy at scale one of the main challenges that arise is around integration into the grid and power systems while managing the intermittency. Storage solutions have long been sought out by system operators and utilities to address this challenge albeit with a limit on the duration of that storage (e.g., BESS). Long-Duration Energy Storage solutions (LDES) presents a great opportunity to tackle this challenge and should be considered by system planners, including in our region, as a way to integrate renewables more seamlessly and efficiently. Read more on this in the following report "Unlocking the potential of Long-Duration Energy Storage in the GCC" by my esteemed colleagues Dr. Alessandro Zampieri, Peter Ondko and Ferdinand Varga
Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) addresses one of renewable energy’s biggest challenges: long-duration intermittency. With LDES, we can store excess power generated during times of abundance and deploy it when demand outstrips supply for long periods. This is will be an imperative for energy systems worldwide, especially as energy transition accelerates and intermittent renewables take a major share of power produced. As highlighted in our latest report, for the GCC, with its abundant renewable resources, LDES offers an opportunity to integrate solar and wind energy more effectively, reduce reliance on conventional power sources and take a leadership in the technology development. It was a pleasure to collaborate with @Alessandro Zampieri and @Ferdinand Varga on this report. This video brilliantly captures the immense scale of wind turbines and the formidable transport challenges they present. It's not just about landing the equipment; it's ensuring the nearest port has quarantine staff ready to allow the ship to dock, transport experts who can assess whether the truck and load can navigate corners, effective on-road vehicle management, and finally, site access. In Western Australia, we have extensive experience handling over-width loads for mining equipment. However, dealing with over-length loads is an entirely different challenge! #Transport #WindTurbines #Logistics #WesternAustralia #RenewableEnergy
Wind Turbine Blades Arrive at Geraldton Port for the Bellevue Gold Project The wind turbine blades—four GW165/6.0MW Goldwind turbines—have arrived at Geraldton Port, marking a key milestone in the development of an 88MW hybrid power station for the Bellevue Gold Project. Under a 15-year power purchase agreement, Zenith Energy will finance, build, own, and operate this hybrid solution, which integrates wind, solar, thermal, and battery storage to supply up to 80% of the project’s energy needs from renewable sources. Once operational, the station will further enable Bellevue Gold Mine to operate on up to 100% renewable energy during optimal conditions, supporting their goal to become Australia’s first carbon-neutral gold producer and furthering our commitment to sustainable, off-grid energy for the resources sector. #ZenithEnergy #HybridPower #BellevueGold #RenewableEnergy #Decarbonisation #NetZero #SustainableMining #EnergyTransition

As Bloomberg reported, EU emissions shrink as renewable ramp up. In 2023, emissions from the power and industrial sectors decreased by 21%, with much of the credit going to the increased renewable energy capacity. Cubenergy, a leading BESS provider, has been aiding the EU's emission reduction. Our BESS product, PowerCombo can integrate directly with renewable energy generation facilities, allowing surplus power generated by renewables to be efficiently stored during periods of low demand and discharged during peak demand hours. Being complied with the UL 9540, IEC 62933, CE and bankability report by DNV, PowerCombo is recognized by customers with its performance, quality and bankability while Cubenergy is recognized as tier 1 energy storage manufacturer according to BloombergNEF Energy Storage Tier 1 List 2Q 2024. #energystorage #renewableenergy #bess

Another step in the right direction towards green and sustainable electric generation for the future in the UK
Transforming wind into power: celebrating a milestone for Sofia Offshore Wind Farm Now in its construction phase, the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is a flagship project for RWE. It will generate enough clean energy to power 1.2million homes, helping the UK reach its renewable energy targets. RWE is a leading partner in the delivery of the UK’s clean energy transition, with several more offshore wind farms in our UK development pipeline. Central to this project is the onshore converter station, which converts the energy harnessed from the North Sea winds into the electricity that powers our homes and businesses. The arrival of the transformers at Sofia’s onshore converter station marks a major milestone. As we celebrate, we look forward to a future powered by clean, renewable energy. Watch this terrific video to learn more about this exciting phase. Solar and wind go hand in hand 🤝🏽 Until now, SENS has been a valued partner primarily for the development, EPC services and O&M services of individual PV systems. In future, the solar business will be merged with the wind business from the parent company Iqony. ☀🌬 This change is also accompanied by a change of name: in future, the company will operate on the market as Iqony Sustainable Energy Solutions GmbH (Iqony Sens for short). Under the leadership of the two managing directors André Kremer and Joël Wagner, Iqony Sens will realise synergies along the entire value chain of onshore wind and large-scale PV. The new business unit is based on two pillars: IPP (Independent Power Producer) as well as EPC and O&M. We look forward to pursuing this path together with our existing customers, partners and suppliers and to driving the development of renewable energy even further forward. 📈💪🏽 Read our press release here 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/edcHKdNg #renewableenergy #solarpower #windpower #GoodEnergy
