Nonprofit job boards have all kinds of jobs but seem to have especially high concentrations of executive and comms roles. Here are a few good #nonprofitjobs boards on Job Search Database: Idealist.org - Has been a go-to for nonprofits for years and one that is in my personal job search rotation. Philanthropy News Digest - Run by a nonprofit data collection company Candid and using all that data collection know-how to create a very active nonprofit board. 🌟 Ready for What’s Next 🌟 As some of you may know, my position at The Trevor Project was impacted by a recent round of layoffs. Though saying goodbye was bittersweet, in reflection on my 2.5 years as a Strategy Manager, I feel deeply grateful for the professional growth, meaningful experiences, and incredible individuals I was able to build relationships with during my time. I had the privilege of working alongside an exceptional and dedicated team whose expertise and drive inspired me daily. As someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, I was continuously proud of our steadfast efforts in designing and implementing strategic and data-driven Annual Planning processes. We were able to actively integrate organizational feedback and insights to establish clear, impactful goals that set actionable and measurable standards of long-term success for each vertical across the organization. Additionally, I was honored with being appointed as co-chair for Trevor's largest affinity group, Trans@Trevor, and held that position for 2 years. Leveraging my experience and enthusiasm for community building, I created safe spaces, increased community involvement, and advocated on behalf of trans and non-binary employees. Being co-chair led to some of the most meaningful professional growth and relationships I have had in my career. As I look ahead, I’m exploring all new opportunities: remote, hybrid, and in-person in and around Denver. I am most interested in positions in Policy and Advocacy, Non-Profit Operations, and Municipal Administration. With 6+ years of experience in Municipal Administration and Non-Profit Operations, I bring skills in policy analysis and interpretation, strategic analysis and planning, creative problem-solving, and budget development. Most of all, I am eager to contribute to a team committed to making a difference in their community. Interested in supporting the next step of my career? Here are some ideas: ❇️ Write me a recommendation on LinkedIn ❇️ Share/tag me in any roles you think may suit my skillset and interest ❇️ Connect me with folks in your network ❇️ Set up a virtual coffee date to catch up Thank you in advance and I look forward to connecting! #OpenToWork #Policy #Advocacy #NonProfit #MunicipalAdministration

As community managers, we often wear multiple hats and we also come from all different types of backgrounds and experiences. If a layoff in this space has impacted you, I wrote about ways that we can leverage and talk about our experiences for new roles across different departments. - Talk about how you helped with community growth and awareness for marketing roles. - Talk about how you reduced community members from churning and increased renewals for customer success roles. - Talk about how you created and launched a new initiative sticking to budget and timelines for project management roles. Our skill set is transferable and valuable, and if you see roles that you're interested in without 'community' in the title, know that you have the experience to get you there. #community #communitymanager #generalist

Hello, Job Market! After three years of grueling but rewarding non-profit work and almost a decade in California, my new bride and I returned to the Midwest to reconnect with family and take a much-needed break. Now, as we’ve finally found our footing (literally and figuratively) in Chicago, I’m excited to seek new professional opportunities here in the city. I’m open to remote work and contracts, but I hope to find a new full-time, on-site role and fill in the “Work” part of the “live-walk-work” life we hope to build. If you need your operations managed, I can do that. If you need your data cleaned, sliced, analyzed, or insights drawn, I can do that. If you want to transform your sleepy legacy nonprofit with modern technology, I can do that. So, let’s do this, Chicago! Josh of All Trades, *Master of Some, reporting for duty. —— If you’ve read this far, you should ask why I picked THIS picture. #OpenToWork #NonProfit #Operations #Chicago #AlwaysForward

Community is something that can touch every part of an organization. Prepare your talking points not only for community but also how it helps the rest of your organization.

It has been really disheartening to see post about how the job market is currently. I have been fortunate enough in my career to have had support from my network or being recruited to different opportunities, but this time it feels different. I have been impacted by personnel downsizing. I have been trying to focus on what is next so that I know what to look for and hope that it finds me also. This is what I know about myself: 1. I am mission-driven. I have a strong background in educational leadership, program management, and equity initiatives, I am confident in my ability to contribute significantly to missions of advancing educational equity and eliminating disparities for the underserved and underrepresented. 2. I believe in leadership that also rolls up their sleeves to do the work. I have successfully supervised teams for the past 7 years, managed contracts, and facilitated program implementation for multiple programs focused on college access, college and career readiness, educational equity, and career-pathways (CTE). I have strong project management skills, grant-writing, volunteer recruitment and management, research skills, and knack for streamlining operational processes to increase efficiency and productivity. 3. Collaboration is key. Partnerships, networking, and collaboration has been vital in my career. When I believe in a mission, I will always find ways that are mutually beneficial to collaborate and come up with a solution that solves a problem. I have experience retaining current relationship and building new relationships with key stakeholders from educational community, corporate, government, and nonprofit organizations to support goals of systems change. I will facilitate the hard conversations, create action plans and goals, try something new, be innovative, and create continuous improvement processes until we hit our goal. My hope is that this season is just a season, that I find the position that is the right fit, and it is somewhere I can plant my seeds, but also grow and learn. So, if you have any leads, advice, or direction for this new season I am in, let's chat! Any support is appreciated! #OpentoWork #OpentoNetwork #ComputerScienceEducation #CSEd #aiEd #Socialimpact #CorporateSocialResponsibilty #ProjectManger #ProgramManager #CommunityEngagement #VolunteerManager #EduPolicy #EdTech #NonProfit #HigherEducation #Philanthropy

Ever taken on a community management role that sounded perfect on paper, only to find out the community's needs and dynamics were far more complex? Job descriptions often highlight ideal responsibilities, skills, and community engagement, but the actual role can be a different story. In reality, community management involves navigating unexpected conflicts, understanding member needs, and reading between the lines of community interactions. It requires adaptability, empathy, and a willingness to learn and grow alongside the community. Remember, job descriptions are just a starting point. To truly succeed in community management, be prepared to ask questions, seek clarification, and stay flexible during the hiring process. Stay open-minded, and be willing to evolve your approach as the community grows and changes. By doing so, you'll be well on your way to building and nurturing vibrant, engaged communities that flourish under your care. #CommunityManagement #JobDescription #CommunityBuilding

Strengthening Connections for Reentry Success As someone deeply committed to reentry work, I’m continuously reminded of the power of networking and how vital it is to support the individuals we serve. Building strong connections doesn’t just open doors—it creates a support network that can be life-changing for people reentering society. Networking is a skill I’m actively working to improve. I’m challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone, engage with new professionals, and learn from others in our field. Each new conversation not only enriches my perspective but also strengthens the community of resources available to those on the journey to rebuild their lives. If you're in reentry work or community outreach, let's connect! Together, we can share insights, resources, and encouragement. By growing our networks, we create a stronger foundation for reentry success. #SouthernMissouriReentry #Reentry #Networking #CommunitySupport #SecondChances #ProfessionalGrowth
