We need partners in this fight to protect people from violence. So, when an opportunity to support our partners, Brave Movement at their film screening for #Beyondthescreen in London, we couldn't miss it! This powerful film tells the stories of four survivors of online sexual exploitation - including Saanika Kodial (pictured) - and outlines urgent actions needed to #ProtectKidsOnline. The screening marked just over 100 days until the first-ever Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children. This is a crucial opportunity to elevate violence against children as a global agenda item and accelerate progress toward ending all forms of violence against children. IJM Canada and 50+ child protection organizations including Together for Girls, CARE, ChildFund International, International Rescue Committee and UNICEF urge the Prime Minister's Office and Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada to ensure high-level Canadian representation and engagement at the conference. Today, on the World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence, we renew our commitment to safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of children, particularly those affected by conflict and displacement. At FYF, we provide holistic support to child survivors of ISIS captivity. Through trauma-informed care and tailored, comprehensive services, we help these resilient children heal, rebuild their confidence, and envision a brighter future. Whether reintegrating into their communities or seeking asylum in third countries, FYF stands by their side, empowering them to make their own choices. Prevention remains a vital focus of our work. Within displaced communities, we actively raise awareness about the dangers of child, early, and forced marriages and unions, advocating for every child’s right to a life free from violence and coercion. Together, we can prevent harm, protect vulnerable children, and support survivors as they reclaim their lives. #ChildProtection #EndViolenceAgainstChildren #SurvivorSupport #ChildRights #FreeYezidiFoundation

A heartbreaking number: In 2023, two children were murdered each day in Ecuador, mostly during confrontations between organized criminal groups. Many of them were under four years old. Although violence has impacted everyone, why have children been disproportionately affected by rising violence in Ecuador? Our latest story breaks down what is happening and how our teams are working to protect children in the some of the areas hit hardest by violence: https://lnkd.in/em8UQ56N

Today marks the UN International Day for the Abolition of Slavery—a stark reminder, that despite its official abolition in 1948, slavery persists in various forms, including the sexual exploitation of children. This modern manifestation leaves countless children trapped in unimaginable circumstances. Child sexual exploitation (CSE) transcends borders and poses a grave violation of human rights that demands a united global response. At ICMEC Australia, we are steadfast in our mission to protect children from online exploitation and abuse by driving cross-industry collaboration to combat this crime. On this significant day, we reflect on the importance of working together. We can build a safer, more just world for children everywhere through collective efforts across nations, sectors, and communities.
