Raising awareness for men's mental health all year round not just in June. Men face unique challenges in mental health, often contending with societal pressures to remain strong and stoic. These expectations can lead to feelings of isolation and hesitation to seek help when needed. However, mental health issues affect everyone, regardless of gender. It's crucial for men to understand that it's okay to not be okay and to reach out for support when they need it. This month, let's focus on educating ourselves and others about men's mental health and work towards breaking the stigma surrounding it. We can support the men in our lives by checking in on them and encouraging open, honest conversations about their mental well-being. Together, we can create a safe and supportive environment where men feel empowered to prioritize their mental health. Remember its okey not to be okey #Mensmentalhealthawareness #itsokeynottobeokey

Mental health is integral to our overall well-being, yet it remains widely misunderstood and stigmatized, particularly among men. Traditional expectations have long compelled men to suppress their emotions and suffer in silence. This has created a significant gap in understanding men's mental health needs, leading to alarming disparities in suicide rates, substance abuse, and other mental health issues. In the United States, men account for nearly 80% of all suicides, according to the CDC, with males dying at four times the rate than females. Numerous factors contribute to men's reluctance to seek mental health support, including societal ideals of masculinity, the stigma surrounding mental health, and insufficient awareness of available resources. However, it's crucial to recognize that vulnerability and masculinity can co exist. #LizBentleyAssociates #LizBentley #MensMentalHealth #MentalHealth #SufferInSilence #VulnerabilityAndMasculinity #GetHelp #StepIntoYourPower #LevelUp

To celebrate #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, we're shining a light on how Gen Z is dismantling mental health stigmas and speaking up about their experiences. Our research with Oliver Wyman Forum shows that 65% of Gen Z admit to having struggled with mental health issues in the last two years, compared to just 14% of boomers. They actively seek to improve their mental well-being, with 20% meditating and 24% attending therapy. Not afraid to break taboos, they are also 20% more willing to discuss mental health in the workplace compared to other generations. May is National Mental Health Month 💚 Men and women both experience mental health struggles, but men’s willingness to reach out for support can be discouraged by social stigmas, perceived standards of masculinity or fatherhood, and an overall lack of support circles. Approximately one million Canadian men suffer from major depression every year; 75% of successful Canadian suicides are men (Canadian Mental Health Association). What can we do? ~ Be a support person. ~ Speak out against men's mental health stigma. ~ Connect to & learn more from men’s mental health organizations. ~ Take care of your mental health! To our Fathers, Brothers, Sons, Cousins, and Friends: Give yourself kindness. You deserve it. #endthestigma #mensmentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #hereforyou #mentalhealthmonth #truenorth #truenorthab #truenorthsociety #healthyindividuals #healthyrelationships #healthycommunities

Mental health 🗣️ Let's address the reality: Mental health affects us all, without discrimination. Recently, I had a heart-to-heart with a young working mom who was feeling overwhelmed. She raised an interesting point about the stigma attached to seeking help based on one's lifestyle choices. She questioned why it's acceptable for stay-at-home mums to have help, yet working mums are judged for the same. My take on this? Whoever needs support should receive it, without judgment. It's time to break free from the pressure of perfection - whether it's about being a flawless parent, managing work stress, or maintaining a picture-perfect home. Let's erase that stigma together. I'm stepping in to assist her with a mental health clean today. My hope is that she returns to a space where she can prioritize her well-being and feel empowered to move forward positively. Join me in advocating for a more compassionate approach to mental health support. #BioSecureHygieneandEnvironmentalSolutions 📲07501134192

Mental health matters, especially in communities of color. For too long, stigma and cultural barriers have silenced conversations about mental well-being in communities of color. But the truth is, mental health affects us all, regardless of race or ethnicity. As we strive for equality and justice, let's also prioritize mental health support and resources for people of color. Let's create safe spaces where individuals can seek help without fear of judgment or shame. It's okay not to be okay. Let's break the silence, challenge stigma, and support each other in our mental health journeys. Together, we can heal and thrive. Remember, you are not alone. Your mental health matters, and you deserve support and care. 💚 We have included a link below for anyone seeking mental health resources for BIPOC, the link is also in our bio. #mentalhealth #blackmentalhealthmatters #ywcanca #ywca https://bit.ly/3RLprpD
