Mental health matters, especially in communities of color. For too long, stigma and cultural barriers have silenced conversations about mental well-being in communities of color. But the truth is, mental health affects us all, regardless of race or ethnicity. As we strive for equality and justice, let's also prioritize mental health support and resources for people of color. Let's create safe spaces where individuals can seek help without fear of judgment or shame. It's okay not to be okay. Let's break the silence, challenge stigma, and support each other in our mental health journeys. Together, we can heal and thrive. Remember, you are not alone. Your mental health matters, and you deserve support and care. 💚 We have included a link below for anyone seeking mental health resources for BIPOC, the link is also in our bio. #mentalhealth #blackmentalhealthmatters #ywcanca #ywca https://bit.ly/3RLprpD

Mental health 🗣️ Let's address the reality: Mental health affects us all, without discrimination. Recently, I had a heart-to-heart with a young working mom who was feeling overwhelmed. She raised an interesting point about the stigma attached to seeking help based on one's lifestyle choices. She questioned why it's acceptable for stay-at-home mums to have help, yet working mums are judged for the same. My take on this? Whoever needs support should receive it, without judgment. It's time to break free from the pressure of perfection - whether it's about being a flawless parent, managing work stress, or maintaining a picture-perfect home. Let's erase that stigma together. I'm stepping in to assist her with a mental health clean today. My hope is that she returns to a space where she can prioritize her well-being and feel empowered to move forward positively. Join me in advocating for a more compassionate approach to mental health support. #BioSecureHygieneandEnvironmentalSolutions 📲07501134192

Raising awareness for men's mental health all year round not just in June. Men face unique challenges in mental health, often contending with societal pressures to remain strong and stoic. These expectations can lead to feelings of isolation and hesitation to seek help when needed. However, mental health issues affect everyone, regardless of gender. It's crucial for men to understand that it's okay to not be okay and to reach out for support when they need it. This month, let's focus on educating ourselves and others about men's mental health and work towards breaking the stigma surrounding it. We can support the men in our lives by checking in on them and encouraging open, honest conversations about their mental well-being. Together, we can create a safe and supportive environment where men feel empowered to prioritize their mental health. Remember its okey not to be okey #Mensmentalhealthawareness #itsokeynottobeokey

Mental health is integral to our overall well-being, yet it remains widely misunderstood and stigmatized, particularly among men. Traditional expectations have long compelled men to suppress their emotions and suffer in silence. This has created a significant gap in understanding men's mental health needs, leading to alarming disparities in suicide rates, substance abuse, and other mental health issues. In the United States, men account for nearly 80% of all suicides, according to the CDC, with males dying at four times the rate than females. Numerous factors contribute to men's reluctance to seek mental health support, including societal ideals of masculinity, the stigma surrounding mental health, and insufficient awareness of available resources. However, it's crucial to recognize that vulnerability and masculinity can co exist. #LizBentleyAssociates #LizBentley #MensMentalHealth #MentalHealth #SufferInSilence #VulnerabilityAndMasculinity #GetHelp #StepIntoYourPower #LevelUp

Have you been subjected to an undignified or differential treatment in school, at your work place or in an institution or organisation because , at the time, you were in a depressive state, suicidal or suffering from other mental illness? I am thrilled to share that this evening I will be part of a panel discussion on Mental Health and the Law, focusing on addressing the stigma around suicide and creating safe spaces for persons undergoing divergent mental health challenges. This conversation will dive into the importance of employers, institutions and organisations fostering environments where individuals/employees feel supported and safe to address mental health challenges. We’ll also explore the urgent need to decriminalize suicide, a step towards removing the stigma around mental health and encouraging people to seek help without fear. Mental health matters, and it's time we all take action. I’m excited to be a part of this important dialogue! #MentalHealth #SafeWorkspaces #MentalHealthAndLaw #DecriminalizeSuicide #WorkplaceWellness #MentalHealthMatters

July is Minority Mental Health Month! Healing Springs Wellness Center is a place for you to feel heard and understood, we specialize in therapy for people of color. Cultural competence is an extremely important aspect of our practice and therapeutic approach. All of our clinicians are trained in inclusivity, racial bias, and specific mental health issues affecting communities of color. In therapy, your experience will be not only validated but also valued as you develop a vocabulary around your needs and learn how to vocalize them. Getting support from a culturally competent therapist who understands your experience will help you feel safe and comfortable enough with becoming vulnerable and emotionally aware. Communities Of Color possess incredible resilience and strength, yet they often face unique and disproportionate mental health challenges. In our society, Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC) Individuals are more likely to develop symptoms of depression and anxiety—such as hypervigilance, increased heart rate and blood pressure—as well as symptoms of PTSD related to racial trauma. By acknowledging these challenges, we can empower ourselves to seek the support and resources needed to thrive mentally and emotionally. https://lnkd.in/eqtZBTty #bipocmentalhealth #blackmentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters
