Being Intentional with my time is something that resonated with me and was compounded after a talk with Charles Moore D.Eng. In that context upon assumption of my #volunteering role as the Deputy Southeast Region Director of the United States Army Warrant Officers Association (USAWOA), our Director and I strive to advance the USAWOA and Southeast Region's impact and reach. We owe it to our 2️⃣k+ members, and 5️⃣ 0️⃣ + chapter leaders managing the day-to-day operations of 1️⃣ 1️⃣ chapters across 6️⃣ states. We are excited to share our strategic focus on 4 key Lines of Effort (LOE) that will drive our success. We look forward to advancing, "Warrant Officers taking care of Warrant Officers". 1. Recognition: We aim to identify and recognize talented Warrant Officers and Chapters for their exceptional contributions. By highlighting their achievements, we not only celebrate their successes but also inspire others to follow their lead. 2. Retain & Recruit Members and Activate New Chapter(s): Our USAWOA Brand and value-added benefits are at the forefront of retaining current members, attracting new ones, and activating new chapters. Let's continue to promote the value and camaraderie our organization offers. 3. Monitor Chapter Activities: Ensuring the success of our current chapters is paramount. By providing support and resources, we can sustain our activities and foster a thriving community. 4. Regional Engagement: We are committed to enhancing communication, involvement, and advocacy at the regional level. Let's collaborate closely to amplify our impact and effectiveness. #professional #recognition #representation #retaintalent #recruittalent #grow #engagement #communication

Another fantastic week with the San Diego FourBlock cohort where we dove into transition strategies for career mapping. Huge thanks to Craig Casipe for leading our discussion and providing insight into his story and some of the common challenges that military members run up against when leaving the service. One of my favorite talking points was around "Personal Long-Term Greediness" and how each individual should have a set of non-negotiables as they map out their career while aligning with their values first. Finding your "why," making the right adjustments as you continue to learn and network, and voicing what those values are to potential employers is critical. Some great examples that the team came up with for long-term greediness was health, time, and continually being challenged. Sandra, thanks for taking the lead on the discussion! Be Exceptional By Doing The Important Things Well The NFL football season just ended Week #2, sparking excitement among football fans. There's one team in particular that stands out as the one to beat, aiming for a historic "three-peat." In a recent YouTube interview, a renowned football coach and former player was asked why this team keeps succeeding. His response was straightforward: “They are well-coached, have an outstanding quarterback, and they stay in the fight." This winning formula mirrors a successful approach for job seeking for Veterans, Transitioning Military Members, and Military Spouses: ♦ Team up with an exceptional career coach. ♦ Recognize your value as an outstanding job candidate. ♦ Be exceptional by doing the important things well. ♦ Stay in the fight. Having successfully coached hundreds of transitioning service members and job-seeking Veterans, I've consistently seen this method lead to success time and again. It's a proven method that works. Find your coach. Realize your incredible potential. Do the important things well. Get after it! Email dmcaleer@jobhausllc.com to learn more. Gigi Gonzales Brianne Brown Derek M. Today is National #HireaVeteranDay, and as a veteran-run organization, we’d like to highlight some of the unique qualities that servicemembers can bring to the workplace. 👇 LEADERSHIP- Serving in the military shapes you to be a leader by offering unique opportunities to be in charge of personnel and high value government equipment, often at a young age. TEAMWORK- The @USArmy is often referred to as “the world’s greatest team.” Military service often requires you to overcome huge challenges by working with your fellow servicemembers, setting you up for success on any team in the workplace. WORK ETHIC- Employers want to hire hard workers and serving in the military is hard work. Having a strong work ethic is an invaluable quality and sets employees apart in the workplace. INTEGRITY- Servicemembers sign up to protect the American people, and that’s no small task. It requires a significant amount of integrity to voluntarily put others before yourself in order to protect our country. Leadership, teamwork, work ethic, and integrity are just a few of the unique qualities that veterans can bring to the workplace. Serving in the military grows you as a person which inevitably grows you as a professional. On National #HireaVeteranDay, take time to think about how a veteran could benefit your workplace.

Want a quick, easy way to spot top talent? Marine Ray Lawler (Asia-Pacific CEO at Hines) uses an acronym he learned during military service to guide his choices for picking the best talent and ensuring he has a bench for the "next man/woman up.” It is "JJ DID TIE BUCKLE:" *Justice *Judgment *Dependability *Initiative *Decisiveness *Tact *Integrity *Enthusiasm *Bearing *Understanding *Courage *Knowledge *Leadership *Endurance. Ray says, “We can always hire folks with a great business acumen or a wonderful resume or the technical skills, but I have found that the best people possess these traits and qualities.” Most Veterans bring these qualities, and more, to the civilian workforce. If you plan on hiring more Veterans on your team, join us for Veteran Talent Academy. At “Basic Training,” you’ll learn why Veterans make great employees and the fundamentals for hiring them. It’s in-person or online from 8:30am -11:30am MST on April 24, 2024. Click here to register: https://lnkd.in/eDYCPUGJ Join the Veteran Champion Movement. Disabled veteran here. These guys dont value veterans (nor people) like they say they do.I can prove it.My case (and those of many others. Nurses. Doctors. Front desk clerks.) Can be found at:Masscourts.orgSuperior court. Suffolk county civil.Jonathan lopera. You can also search and review the cases they are going through right now where other whistleblowers and workplace harrasment victims are in need of help but dont get it after reporting workplace legal and ethical violations. If you are serious about helping and real problem solving, and not a virtual signaler, getting involved with supporting the folks scrapping to bring their cases to light would be a major prosocietal boost.Other Example cases: keene vs bwh. toussaint vs bwh. And the active ones right now.Cheers to the real folks out there.
