September 16-20 is National Roundabouts Week! The N.C. Department of Transportation builds roundabouts to improve safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists. They also help reduce the congestion and backups more typical of traditional intersections with stop signs and traffic signals. The following safety improvements were achieved after roundabouts replaced 13 intersections with 55 mph speed limits: Total crashes: Down 41% Fatal and injury crashes: Down 79% Frontal-impact crashes: Down 62% Source: NCDOT Traffic Safety Unit (2020) https://lnkd.in/dKMMqCrm

Just getting all things started for Lando’s first day next week. I always advise clients to have these kinds of things ready 3-5 days before the new starter arrives in order to fix any last minute things that get flagged by the plan. This includes making sure that the person meeting them responsible for doing the tour and induction actually has it planned into their diary. (You would be surprised as to how many do not!) What’s your week one plan like for new starters? Does it need a refresh (or reboot). #PeopleStrategy #Induction #NewPuppyNextWeek

Lots of people talk about the damage of the wrong co-founders and let the assumption stand that as long as you don’t choose them everything will be okay. Why don’t more people talk about the magic of finding the perfect co-founders? And how to fuse them together in a way that makes a startup much stronger than the sum of its parts? Why don’t more people talk about finding the most powerful thing that you can build into the heart of your startup before it’s even a thing? Tonight Our CEO is speaking at Aussie Founders Club on exactly that, and we expect he’ll challenge a few conventions on how to pick, pay and bond with co-founders in a wholly unprofessional but deeply necessary way. He’ll also share stories about the amazing people that almost became Maslow’s co-founders, and how there’s no shame in acknowledging that the fit isn’t always right. We date people before we choose life partners…. Why shouldn’t we date them before we choose business partners? Come along! Tickets below.

What a journey it’s been! 🌟 Less than ten months ago, the Wokingham Bank site was just a vision on paper—a project full of potential but also challenges. Today, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve transformed that vision into a stunning show flat, and I can’t wait to take you behind the scenes! 🔑 From Dream to Reality: Securing Class MA permitted development rights was just the beginning. The race to exchange contracts and move forward was intense, but our team was unstoppable. 💡 Creative Challenges: From unexpected construction hurdles to reimagining the space, every step of this journey tested our resolve and innovation. But as they say, the best views come after the hardest climbs! 🏗️ Final Flourish: And now, with every detail in place, the show flat stands as a testament to what can be achieved with the right mix of vision, grit, and teamwork. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more excited to share the full story with you. Check out the video below to see how we brought this project to life and get a glimpse of what’s next on the horizon. It's a proud day at Brite! Jay achieved an incredible milestone by assembling one of our latest Series 2 Brikes from scratch in less than a day! Jay, who has been with Brite for 14 years and was recently named Employee of the Month, has just started working in the Brike area on Thursdays. He quickly mastered the different tools and assembly process, showcasing his love for challenges, determination, and eagerness to try new jobs at Brite. Check out the videos of Jay fastening components on the Brike and the photo of the finished Brike with Connor, one of Brite’s wonderful volunteers. Jay’s next challenge is building a wheel from scratch by himself – and from what we’ve seen, it won’t be long… watch this space! Jay said, “I had fun learning new things, and I loved the peace and quiet.” Owen, Brite’s Senior Employment Coach, added, “I saw Jay in the Brike area in the morning and then again later. I was amazed to see that the Brike had been completed within the day! It was wonderful to see how excited and proud Jay was to build the Brike.” Assembling Brikes at Brite is one of the many opportunities our employees have to learn new skills, gain confidence, and challenge themselves.
