The Leadership Styles Matrix highlights the diverse ways leaders have influenced the world, showcasing various methods based on historical figures. From visionary leaders like George Washington, who inspire change, to coaching leaders like Vince Lombardi, who emphasize personal growth and development. Leadership is about understanding people, fostering growth, and adapting to different situations. While styles may vary, the goal remains the same: to inspire and lead effectively. I definitely see myself in that! A bit of George Washington for inspiration, a dash of Vince Lombardi for coaching, and of course, my own unique touch... A leader unlike any other. And you , how do you see yourself?

Words have tremendous power. In particular when they come from someone we respect, admire or who is in a position of authority. Some eg: I’m with You. – You aren’t alone. I know this is hard and I am here to support you. I need You. – You are valuable. I know this will be better with your help. I trust You. – You are capable. I know you can handle this important responsibility. I appreciate You. – You are unique. I am grateful for who you are and the work you do. For all of the complexities of leadership with its strategies, decisions, problems, and politics it always comes down to people. When we speak these simple and sincere words into the lives of others we invest in the true purpose of leadership.

Leadership Sense of Purpose: Great leader possess a sense of purpose. Being successful and fulfilling your life's purpose are not at all the same thing. You can reach all your personal goals, become a raving success by the world's standard and still miss your purpose in life. Follow your bliss and doors will open where there were no doors before. When people find their purpose in life and pursue it, their leadership is exemplary and authentic and others will be inspired to follow them. Good morning inspiration 🌞 & encouragement especially for all you leaders out there. I have come to learn and realize that leadership is NOT for the weak😳😊. There will be times when you're not necessarily liked or appreciated for whatever reason. There will be times when you may never receive a thank you or expressions of appreciation. However, keep doing what you have been called to do and never allow the unfortunate negatives to affect your positives. You have been called to leadership for a divine purpose and reason, and it may all be for the benefit of at least one individual that has been assigned to you. Always recall and remember your why, and success will follow.😉

Today the most motivating event for me: I was in the office of a senior IT leader who had three books on his desk and we talked about them. It was not a planned conversation, but a happenstance encounter. I had read two of them (This is Lean and Think Again). We briefly discussed each book and talked about what we learned and how they are applicable to our jobs. It was a great conversation which lead to going deeper into topics where l learned more about leadership and how to exhibit it. I walked out better then I walked in. Those are the engagements I am seeking. What inspired or motivated you this week?

One of the greatest rewards of leadership is the ability to help others reach their full potential. True leadership is measured by the impact you have on your team’s growth and development. It’s easy to forget where we started, but reflecting on our own challenges and the obstacles we’ve overcome reminds us to lead with empathy. By embracing this perspective, you can forge meaningful, lasting connections with your team—connections that inspire, uplift, and empower others to achieve what they once thought was impossible. Leadership isn’t just about guiding others; it’s about growing together.

If you aren’t walking into a room thinking — 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 — you are missing the point of business. Maybe 1,000 people in the world have accomplished so much they are automatically impressive (and don’t have to do this). Of course, they would do it anyway, since they know how life/business works. • How can I serve? • How can I inspire? • How can I connect? Displaying servant leadership will win in almost any crowd. You don’t do it to win, but you can't win without it.

I really care about people having the chance to be their absolute best at work. Like really care. A stupid amount. A lot of that comes from an innate level of compassion, for sure. But 25 years of leadership experience tells me with absolute certainty that it makes good business sense – all day long. Knowing what helps your people operate at their very best and delivering that for them is at the heart of leadership in my view. When people are with you, truly with you, the seemingly impossible becomes doable. The concept is simple. The reality a bit more tricky. Always be firm-fair-and consistent with your leadership. Hold everyone to a high standard and help them get there. Don’t believe in excuses without a solution. Keep helping others to be better than what they were yesterday and continue to let them know there are a myriad of ways to get there. Being direct is just one of many and needed at times. People don’t always like being pushed into being better but in the end, you will always see positive results and see the appreciation.
