This week, the HIMSS Congress in #Santiago hosted over 1,000 participants. Wow! As the founder of Rarus Health SPA, a healthtech startup passionately focused on patients, my experience at HIMSS 2024 left me with mixed feelings. Where Are Our Doctors? 🤔 Imagine walking into a hall meant to shape the future of healthcare and seeing fewer than 10 medical doctors. It’s disheartening. Our frontline heroes are missing because they’re overwhelmed and digital solutions aren't aligning with their real-world needs? How can we innovate if we’re not addressing the actual pain points of those who save lives every day? The Patient-Centricity Illusion 🩺 Every panel discussion praised patient centricity, yet not a single patient representative was present. This is a stark reminder: until we recognize patients as vital partners in healthcare, we’re just paying lip service. We must stop talking about patients and start talking with them. Only then will true change happen. Working together with #doctors and #patients is hard, very hard: no time, different languages, and pressure on both sides to be good (aka convenient). But it looks like this is the only way to create game-changing solutions.
