Diving into workplace efficiency, Professor Marlo Raveendran's research explores the relationship between performance goals and creativity: "If you're trying to get your employees to explore new creative options, give them moderate performance goals…If you want them to find a good solution fast, give them higher performance goals.” Her research shows managers that when the situation allows for it, providing workers moderate goals over high-performance goals will foster greater creative exploration and risk mitigation.
