Are you involved with a youth-serving organization? Chances are that many of the children you serve come from trauma-filled backgrounds, and they might not fit the stereotype you have in your mind. Data from SAMHSA’s National Child Traumatic Stress Initiative finds that more than two-thirds of children reported at least one traumatic event by age 16 Without proper training in trauma-informed practices, there's a high risk of inadvertently retraumatizing these children. How does this happen? Consider the common practice of asking kids to bring in a baby picture. For many foster children, this simple request can evoke painful memories, as they might not have such mementos due to their unique life experiences. Investing in trauma-informed training equips your team with the necessary tools to create a supportive and understanding space for all children, regardless of their backgrounds. Reach out if you want to ensure that every child feels safe, valued, and respected in your programs. #YouthServices #TraumaInformedCare #ChildWellbeing #EmpathyInAction #SupportingChildren #InclusivePrograms #MentalHealthAwareness #ChildTraumaAwareness #SafeSpaces #EmpowerKids #childabuseprevention

Happy Global Day of Parents! 👪 Did you know that the most important interaction you can have with your child is through play? It's fun and every moment of play shapes their world, their skills, and fosters bonds. However, many children in vulnerable communities are deprived of play. We call on our partners to commit to ensuring: -Evidence-based programs delivered through health workers, social services, and community groups. -Culturally and contextually adapted initiatives. -Family-friendly policies to ensure care, time, and resources for play. By supporting playful parenting programmes, we build stronger families and communities. #EarlyMomentsMatter

Transitioning from Enforced Rules to Self-Discipline For Daily Parents, discipline isn't just about following enforced rules. It's about guiding kids toward self-discipline. They pave the way for children to embrace self-accepted rules, where children make choices based on their own understanding and values. This transition from enforced rules to self-discipline is where the magic happens. This empowers kids to take ownership of their actions and decisions, fostering a sense of responsibility and maturity along the way!!! ‘Why can’t you be like your sibling?’ – A common phrase with damaging effects. 💔 Parental comparison, even when unintentional, can hurt a child’s confidence and self-esteem. Every child is unique, with their own pace, strengths, and journey. Instead of comparing them to siblings or peers, let’s focus on celebrating their individuality. Fostering a sense of worth and appreciation helps children grow into confident, resilient individuals. 🌟 Let’s create homes where kids feel valued for who they truly are. #EmpoweredParenting #StopComparisons #CelebrateIndividuality #stopcomparisons #positiveparenting #CelebrateIndividuality #stopcomparing #startcelebratin #positiveparenting #kidsselfesteem #CelebrateUniqueness #parentinggoals #healthymindset #emotionalwellbeing #LoveAndSupport #EmpowerChildren
