Different types of gin🍸 It’s worth noting that new types of gin are regularly introduced to the market as distillers continue to innovate and push the boundaries of flavor. Below, we highlight some of the most popular gins more detailed. 1️⃣ London Dry Gin: Known for its crisp, juniper-forward profile, it contains no artificial flavors or sweeteners, making it the perfect choice for a classic G&T. 2️⃣ Plymouth Gin: Exclusively crafted in Plymouth, England, offers a slightly earthier and less dry profile than London Dry Gin, with a gentler touch of juniper—ideal for a smooth martini. 3️⃣ Old Tom Gin: This is your pick if you enjoy a touch of sweetness. A favorite from the 18th century, its subtly sugary profile shines in classic cocktails like the Tom Collins. 4️⃣ Genever: The ancestor of gin, boasts a malty, rich character reminiscent of a whisky-gin hybrid. A must-try for those who enjoy bold, complex flavors. So, next time you reach for gin, remember—there’s more to it than just London Dry. The spirits market, dominated by a few large conglomerates, has often felt like a race to the bottom. While these giants have undoubtedly shaped consumer preferences, their focus on mass production and uniform flavor profiles has left a void for those seeking authentic, artisanal spirits. This aggressive commercial approach has led many in the hospitality industry, from bartenders to managers, to compromise their professional ethics. It’s time to remember that quality, sustainability, and unique stories are what truly define a great spirit The beauty of the spirits world lies in its diversity: the unique terroir of different regions, the passion of individual distillers, and the endless possibilities of flavor combinations. Smaller, independent producers offer a refreshing alternative, crafting spirits that are as much a reflection of their craft as they are of the ingredients they use. As consumers become more discerning, it's encouraging to see a growing appreciation for these smaller brands. By supporting these passionate artisans, we not only get to enjoy more complex and nuanced flavors but also help to preserve traditional distilling methods and protect the environment. While the road ahead may be challenging, I believe that the future of the spirits industry lies in the hands of these smaller, independent producers. Im here in the incredible Margaret River where I’ve learnt so much. Gin crafted using wine as a base represents a fascinating convergence of two worlds, creating a spirit with unique character and depth. Traditionally, gin is distilled from the likes of grains, but using wine as a base introduces a captivating twist. Picture the vineyards, where the grapes undergo their transformation into wine – a process laden with regional nuances and terroir. Now, imagine harnessing this rich and complex essence to lay the foundation for crafting gin. The marriage of wine and gin unfolds in the distillery, where the art of infusion begins. Botanicals carefully selected for their aromatic profiles dance with the wine-derived spirit, creating a symphony of flavors. The juniper's resinous notes intertwine with the fruity undertones of the wine base, while coriander, citrus peels, and other botanicals contribute their unique accents. The result is a gin that not only carries the classic juniper-driven essence but also boasts a subtle yet discernible vinous character. The influence of the wine base adds layers of complexity, offering a sensory journey that transcends the ordinary. As you savor a sip of your next drink, take a moment to appreciate its origins. It maybe the seamless fusion of traditions – where the world of spirits embraces the elegance of wine. It's a testament to the endless possibilities, reminding us that innovation and craftsmanship know no bounds. Here's to the artistry of gin crafted from the heart of the vineyards. 🍇🍸

WHISKY GALORE 8 : J&B Martini Blend First, there was the gin martini. Then came vodka. Now, anything goes. You can even have an espresso martini. So one day I thought, why not a whisky martini? Let's create a Scotch specially designed to be served as the base for a martini. Scotch can be as diverse as astringent, peaty Lagavulin and soft, estery Famous Grouse. There's enough variety in the hundreds of distilleries in Scotland to produce a unique martini blend. Our martini whisky must be utterly different. We would employ a world class gin distiller as the lead. Because that's where the martini began. And a brilliant whisky person as a second-in-com mand. Someone who knew every distillery in Scotland. And finally, a mixologist to provide the magic touch. And we'd start in New York, where the martini began. Where people would be receptive to a new idea. And we'd bring back J&B and make it famous again. It was once the biggest-selling Scotch in America. J&B Martini Blend hasn't happened yet. I am waiting patiently to see if anyone will take it on. It is no longer my idea. It's anybody's! Go for it. That story isn't in my book - yet. But J&B is one of my 'hero' brands. Check it out on https://lnkd.in/eyRzmuK for a stack of brand stories, winners and losers. And lots of fun. #innovation #ideas #themartini #whisky #drinksbusiness
