Today marks an important milestone for @EU_DIGIT and the EU #PublicSector!  🤝 The #InteroperableEuropeAct was signed by @Europarl_EN and @EUCouncil.  The new regulation paves the way for the seamless connection and digitalisation of public administrations across the Union. Thanks to all that made this possible.

The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament signed the Interoperable Europe Act in Strasbourg yesterday. A brief moment crowning a long period of dedicated work to the cause of #interoperability and digitalisation of the public sector in Europe. I'm extremely proud that the team I work with in the Commission stands behind this achievement. Interoperability may not sound as catchy as #AI, but it's actually at the heart of e-government and, I dare say, in a way the European idea. The new Act will help the following groups: Citizens The provision of borderless digital public services is central, ensuring that every European, regardless of their location, has access to digital services that are consistent, high-quality, and inclusive. This initiative is a key contributor to the EU 2030 target, focusing on building better services while leaving no one behind. Governments Interoperable Europe Act is setting a new standard for digital governance, guiding EU and Member State administrations in delivering connected digital services. Businesses In the spirit of the Digital Single Market, Interoperable Europe Act empowers businesses to seamlessly operate and innovate across Europe. The Act is a catalyst for private sector actors to engage in technology-based cooperation with the public sector, driving the digital transformation that supports a thriving and competitive economy. Innovation Ecosystem The Act fosters a dynamic GovTech ecosystem, where public-private partnerships are the engines of innovation in public sector digital transformation. So, as a communication professional, together with the team, I'm beyond excited to help make this legislation known across different stakeholders and audiences. Copenhagen or “Buy a Harbour”? The Danish capital Copenhagen’s name, København, can be divided into the three Danish words “Køb En Havn”. Directly translated these three words mean “Buy A Harbour”. And while the harbour might not be for sale, the three words hint at the city’s historical legacy as an important hub for local, regional, and latest international trade. A legacy that is carried on by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Councils around the globe, where we are working to promote Danish innovation, know-how, and business opportunities in the international market.
